Pretty sure the Rafah Crossing was reopened in late 2023 or early 2024.

Was on the KATC FB page, looks like the comments naming their restaurants have been yanked so her replies aren't there anymore.

Odds are they knew nothing unless the restaurant was owned by people from his country

We need to know what Lafayette restaurant would hire someone like this?

It was Chimes. I kid, I don't know.

It could be any restaurant, but there are a handful of Mediterranean restaurants in Lafayette that would seem more logical.

From the affidavit in the criminal complaint:
quote:

On August 6, 2024, Al-Muhtadi met with a consular official at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo. The consular official did not recall meeting Al-Muhtadi specifically, but said she would have administered an oath to Al-Muhtadi in whatever language he would have been most comfortable speaking, whether English or Arabic, requiring him to swear that the answers he provided in his application were true.

It appears his application was rubber-stamped without any due diligence or common sense applied.

I keep checking to see if it gets posted there, on one hand those weirdos are entrenched in the restaurant scene, if anywhere would know where he worked, r/acadiana would. On the other they very likely may sympathize with him and it doesn't even get noticed there.
