NYC crushes 100 illegal ATVs & dirt bikes

In this video that turns out to be just as odd as its title, New York City Mayor Eric Adams waved a checkered flag, prompting a waiting Department of Sanitation driver to hit the gas on his bulldozer and bring doom on a pile of ATVs and motorcycles.
A line of motorcycles and dirt bikes stand waiting while the bulldozer charges ahead to crush them. The video clip shows that the driver gets about halfway through the line before needing to reverse and unstick a pesky motorcycle before charging back down to finish the job.

(Props to the NYC Sanitation Dept for keeping proper track tension on this D9H. It make a big difference in the life of links, bushings, sprockets, and idlers)

Saw a couple on a Honda Rancher on Perkins at 3:30 yesterday, not a care in the world. Lawlessness.

What's the percent of those that were stolen...

Dunno. But if I had to guess I’d say north of 75-80%.

I love it. Only way it would be
More enjoyable is if they had the operators chained to the bikes when they crushed them.
I have no issue with ATVs off road. But this shite about riding them on streets and hwys illegally is ridiculous. Destroy every last one of them.

Instead of making it illegal to do any sort of enforcement to bikes and atvs, something has to happen or it only gets worse

This is similar to the gun grabber idiots.
Not a single one of those bikes drove themselves illegally on the streets. A human operator did.
So logically, let's crush the bikes and make them unusable to prevent this from happening in the future.

yeah, but they won't ride THOSE ATVs illegally again. At least these bikes were confiscated after being used illegally. the gun you mention are usually turned in voluntarily by some fool who wants a gas card or a phone card. Those truly are a waste.

Really?....I would have paid the city of NY a couple hundred bucks plus paid for shipping on a slow truck from there to add a descent one to my garage for hunting season...
Seems to me the city could have made this a win/win.
Forfeit of assets from law breakers, and generation of funds from law-abiding citizens.

I REALLY hate to see it happen to rare bikes like the banshee, which was undoubtedly stolen from someone, and are no longer produced

Similar to what Dims are doing to the rest of our economy, they destroy everything they touch

Let's do the same everywhere with golf carts as well. I'm tired of almost killing unsupervised children driving their dad's golf cart in the neighborhood. fricking hell.

Fricking stupid arse liberals.
I get that thugs in New York City are riding ATVs and dirtbikes on the streets and messing up traffic, and screwing with drivers.
But those confiscated dirtbikes and ATVs are actually put to good use in other parts of the country. Why not sell them???
Win-win. City of New York gets some revenue. Someone that wants to use them for their intended purpose gets a (hopefully) good deal on one.

Instead of turning these ATVs and bikes into rubble, why not sell it as parts or even auction off these bikes to the public/overseas and make some $$$.

Would have been better if the criminal drivers were strapped to them.

I wonder if these are the same idiots screaming for reducing waste, an “up-cycling”.
Posted on 6/22/22 at 4:06 pm to Darth_Vader
Could they not have sold them?
