They went hard on the "Everyone get tested" plan in Alabama a few months ago. They had all the local media pushing it. Tests overwhelmed the labs so badly that it was taking 10+ days to get results back. They backed off of that plan after a while.

If you haven't left then you probably shouldn't worry.

Most people have left though.

I haven't had a covid test. I might be the only one in America.

I, along with others mocked this notion. That people have literally stayed home in these Northeast shitholes.

But, with their high density etc people must be truly isolating. For a more thorough degree of Herd Immunity through national infections to not be seen.

Truly pathetic, cowardly on their behalf.

I can only answer for me, but I get tested if I think I may have it and don't want to expose my parents (or high risk coworkers).

So far negative on all tests. It takes about 25 minutes all told.

Chain Pharmacy i work for will
Be offering Covid tests in a few weeks.. it’ll take a few business days to get results

We have a couple of clinics and independent pharmacies who offer rapid testing already in the area so why would anyone wait 3 days vs 15-20 minutes for their results ???

Also feels like everyone is getting tested If they wake up with the sniffles. Thanks mainstream media for making everyone paranoid and scared

I’m with you.

Just don’t see the point. If I’m sick, I’ll just quarantine. Why go to the doctor and get tested unless I’m feeling like death?

So, if you don't have it, you don't have to stay in quarantine for 10-14 days. That's pretty big damn reason.

If everyone followed the recommendations to get tested, followed distancing protocols, etc, the wave would subside to manageable numbers.

Meanwhile, the anti-mask, anti-vaccine crowd threaten to take it to the streets to open up the country again. Except... no one has done it. There are more credible (albeit weak) threats coming from the election fraud crowd. There will be no civil war and no revolution until the people have nothing left to lose.

If we were attacked by a competent military and defended ourselves with 50 different plans from 50 different states, we lose. That's our strategy right now to deal with this virus.

Want to end it? Want to stop the isolation and stop businesses from closing, job losses, etc? Follow the common sense recommendations that are an inconvenience to all of us. Nothing more.

If I’m sick, where am I really trying to go?

I can work from home so not a big deal for me. I’m not saying there’s never a point in getting tested. Just no reason for me.

You may not show symptoms though.

I get you may not be at risk, neither am I, but I am in contact with people I don't want to give it to.

I would have been in that number until 12/2.

And yep, I got the Covid.

Well, I felt bad and instead of just assuming it was a sinus infection or flu, I decided to get tested. That way, I can make informed decisions that can help me keep from getting other people sick.

Because I feel bad about normal things and if I got my family or friends sick (or worse), I'd absolutely hate myself.

No need to at all. I’ll just get sick and assume it’s a cold and infect my coworkers and family with COVID

What’s the difference since there’s no where enjoyable to go?
