Honestly, this venue is far from a Hilton. For whatever reason the Vestavia Hills' "powers to be" have been content with letting the 'south end' of town on US 31 wallow in mediocrity and barrenness. Just last month the city did indeed have the condemned Days Inn leveled which is across US 31 from the Red Roof Inn.

I know that was a lot of nothing, but at $79 a night the Red Roof Inn has some sketchy characters, more than ever now the sex workers at the Days Inn have had to relocate. Its a step above a dump.

I wasn’t aware of the Aniyah Blanchard case, awful story. After reading up on this, was the accused murderer, ibraheed Yazim, found guilty? I know he was charged with 1st degree murder, but can’t find the ruling.

(Mar 6, 2023)

Ibraheem Yazeed, the suspect accused of the kidnapping and killing of Aniah Blanchard in 2019, pleaded not guilty to all murder charges at his arraignment on Monday, court documents show.

A Macon County grand jury indicted Yazeed on three counts of capital murder in November. The charges are capital murder during a kidnapping, capital murder during a robbery and capital murder of a victim in a vehicle.

Yazeed, 33, is in custody at the Lee County Detention Center where he has been held without bond since November 2019.

The fact that no description or details about the alleged kidnappers has been released and no information has been released (or even requested) about the roadside toddler, tells you everything you should know.

If there were kidnappers on the loose in Hoover, Alabama, there would be a drawing and details released by now, along with video of a vehicle.

And there would be a search for the missing toddler. But there hasn't even been a mention of it.

Definitely can fit this in the “Dicked down in Dallas” remix

I threw something together at lunch in about 20 minutes. Very rough. And keep in mind it was recorded on a six year old iPhone. But appropriate since Trey Lewis is from Birmingham. The only difference in the versions is a slight variation in the last line of the verse and last line of the chorus. Click on the little speaker icon in the top right of the black square (there is no video).

Article from People. Not much new or different info.

LINK

The police did give them a statement indicating they had spoken with Carlee once. Sounds like they didn't get all they info they wanted.

quote:

"We have spoken to Carlee once and are following up on that information," Hoover police told PEOPLE, adding that it won't share information about their interview with Carlee. "We will follow up with her again to attempt to get a better understanding of her movements during the time she was missing and will provide what information we can when we are able to do so."

Stewardess, I speak jive. Let me interpret this:

"We spoke with Carlee long enough to know she is full of shite. We are taking our time to sort out the bullshite to make sure we don't frick this up. Please be patient. The wait will be worth it"

Latest gossip among the OTM SAHMs is that that Red Roof Inn is a big trouble spot for human trafficking.

If I remember right, there was a red roof inn at one time in Birmingham that’s been sold several times. It’s a crack house now. I don’t even know what’s it’s called. Pretty sure it was a red roof 10 years ago. Definitely not in vestavia, lol. I stand corrected on the one in vestavia being a dump, an above poster sounded knowledgeable.

The Econo-lodge at the intersection of Hwy 31 and I-65 has had more prostitutes and whores run through it than The Bunny Ranch. Your feet literally will stick to the carpet. Or so I am told…

Where you think all the baws that live OTM are gonna bang their side pieces when the wifey is at home and they are “stuck working late at the office”?

That would rule out her looping around.

Also, if I see a real baby on the interstate, im locking the brakes and getting on the shoulder and backing up

That area is a massive speed trap too. I rarely go by when someone isn't pulled over. Actually, I got pulled over there once but was let go with a warning. I think they got an emergency call while I was waiting but maybe it was because I was a resident of the city. Being sober, white and respectful certainly didn't hurt. VHPD are all great people in my experience.

Vestavia has plans to redevelop that part of 31 in the next few years but yes, as my wife would say, it’s “seedy”. The only thing good over there is ranch house and diplomat deli.
With 65 and 459 converging right there, it reminds me a lot of airline highway or Siegen lane interstate exits.

This guy is great. I haven't listened to the entire thing yet, but he's highly entertaining. "She saw the Mobile Leprechaun".

Not sure if this was ever actually fleshed out in this thread, but they did in fact stop the refund of Crime Stopper donations. I find this interesting. They probably thought it was a bad look refunding so early and possibly tipping their hat that this was all fake.
