The girl lives in Jefferson County, the abduction took place in Jefferson County.
If any Red Roof Inn has some involvement there is not one in Shelby County.
Essentially for those who are unfamiliar, Jefferson County is Birmingham proper, where you'll find more liberal DAs, etc.
Shelby County is your rich,white flight County immediately south of Jefferson County.
Do note that the abductions, her parent's home, etc. while in Jefferson County, is very close to the Shelby County line.

Shelby and Jefferson lines run all through the area this occurred. But the “kidnapping” was definitely in Jefferson. If the parents live in Jefferson and the Red Roof is in Jefferson then this will all likely just go away. Shelby County wouldn’t put up with this shite.
One caveat, City of Hoover may try something on their own or try to leverage something with the Jeffco DA. Hoover is generally a FAFO area, not a DINDU area.

I think the mom is going to be pissed she got bamboozled. She wasn’t in on this. I predict she has the girl “somewhat come clean” by saying she had a mental breakdown and wasn’t abducted.

I think Hoover PD waits another day or two, makes some statement that this is closed and confirms that there is no threat to the public. They probably come to an agreement with Carlee & her family that they won’t pursue any charges as long as she doesn’t cling to the BS story.

It seems like her only options are limited to psychotic break, a poorly planned grift and/or booty call, or remaining silent until this all blows over. And I don't think this is blowing over.
None of these alternatives appear to be particularly palatable. At this point, she's probably wishing she had really been abducted.

The mom does seem normal. At the very beginning said to not give them money and to give it to crimestoppers. I bet she knows her daughter is a fricking moron and/or mentally ill.

If you listen to the dispatch log the sister in laws 911 call reporting the scream was pinged at Atkins trimm lane which is very close to where she parked.
