You would think hospital execs would see this and restructure payment options for permanent nurses to incentivize them staying

Soon private equity will own everything and it will all be this way

If hospitals would treat nurses properly they wouldn’t need to strike. Paying traveling nurses this much should be illegal.

I can't identify any of the patients by the wounds that I assume are a vagina. So I don't think it's a Hipaa violation.

The nurses are asking for a 10% raise annually for the next four years. 40% raise total. Ridiculous.

Sweet gig.

But does that include the per diem and housing costs.

I am pretty sure a hotel stay may eat away at that 11K pretty quickly.

You can probably rent a room from some illegal immigrant for next to nothing.

Isn’t that a tract of land near Vaginal Lane and a septic pipe near Jackson Hole?

Agree with that. But it is unfortunate that medicine has turned to profit for managed care, etc. rather than the providers. The stuff nurses have to endure today, I couldn’t do it.

It ain’t that simple. Starting with the mere taking of the photograph to begin with.

But nurses are going to nurse. I had a nurse friend who apparently took a photograph of every dude they prepped up for colonoscopy once they were sedated. She liked showing pictures of their junk to her friends for shits and giggles.

She finally got busted. It did not go well for her.

I’ve never worked in a NYC hospital, but from talking to other doctors who have worked in NYC, it sounds like New York City nurses are about as honorable as the Chicago teachers union.

They tell me that the nurses would barely do anything and the doctors often times had to like draw blood and stuff.

It’s strike busting. They should be paying to house them and bus them in and out. Going to be a bit contentious out there.

Only numbers I’ve seen are for 60 hours. Five 12 hour shifts per week. Not for a normal 36 to 48 hour week of 12’s.

Is there state income tax in NY??

Most plastics patients sign consent for photos to be taken/shared without identity being shown…

99.9% chance his wife showing pictures is not HIPAA violation

To the guy's point, these aren't elective surgeries in a lot of cases and I am not aware of any consent forms. Burn victims, vehicle and atv accidents, gunshot patients, morbidly obese people with extensive bed sores are all common. Of course she never has the information that matters, like what kind of gun it was, or the atv or vehicle involved or anything that's interesting. Doesn't keep me from asking.

But she has to take pictures of the sores to share with the doctor at times and is careful to not photograph any identifying part of the patient. I think you'd have a hard time proving a HIPAA violation. She certainly doesn't take pictures of peoples buttholes and junk unnecessarily. . . that I'm aware of.

Patients sign so many consent forms they have no idea what they are consenting to.

Regardless of if the photos are de-identified , you can’t take photos for not medial purposes and have it leave the building to show to a spouse.

But I have never seen a plastics doctor whether it’s reconstructive or elective not have consent forms for external use of photos. They want to be able to have photos to show their work regardless

If taking pics so she can play stump the dummy with you isn’t necessary, what is? Amirite?
