It doesn’t even have to be travel to get these patients. Just get pulled to a different unit for your shift and you get these same patients.

All the sub-specialties do, some more than others.

Travelers always got treated like crap, the regular staff tended to resent them because they were making a good bit more money than them.

I mean they are aware they are making significantly more money than a permanent nurse. I guess it creates tension all around. This is pretty much what a travel nurse signs up for right?

What was your Gross Pay last year?

As a regular staff nurse with strike contacts I cleared 140k No advanced degre

Thanks.

As a staff RN(Bachelor’s) on a Med-Surg unit w/ Telemetry monitoring, I gross approx 145k, but that’s with OT.

A normal schedule (36 hours 3x12’s) would gross 120k. I receive 6% retirement match into an 403b, and have great (though pricey) medical insurance.

I’m in Massachusetts though, so take that into consideration.

I highly recommend nursing to guys(or ladies) with heart looking for a relatively stable and well paying “profession”. Yes there can be periods of high stress, with a lot of bullshite to wade through at times, but overall it’s a great “living” that is also highly rewarding on a personal/spiritual level.
