This comes up every year on this board and elsewhere, but a similar article about Gandhi and people flip out.

Actually someone has already done that but I don't remember if it was something I heard on NPR or somewhere else but the premise was that some people considered her to be a total fraud.

Yeah, I think it is interesting that the OP was about this being a hit piece. back when schools taught actual history and colleges students didn't get so damn offended, people actually were Ok learning about the complicated people in history. History was made by imperfect humans and it all should be taken in the context of the time and place, but children react with rage to things that challenge their psyche.

Gandhi is an Indian. It's part of Indian culture. Indians invented caste system based on social stature even before any slavery. I can tell you as an Indian, Indians can be very racist even towards our own.
