Funding for NPR comes from dues and fees paid by member stations, underwriting from corporate sponsors and annual grants from the publicly-funded Corporation for Public Broadcasting.[5] Most of its member stations are owned by non-profit organizations,[6][7] including public school districts,[8] colleges,[9] and universities.[10]

Still public funding. Just not direct.

The vast majority I have listened to have been tied to a university. I suspect there may be some state support provided by the university, if only through space and equipment.

I think the model is actually a decent one: no official ads, local programming, local support, opportunities for students, etc.

Let’s put it to the test.

1. Let’s put a football team together of the apex female athletes from around the world.

2. Give them a full year to practice and gel as a team

3. Hold a regulation game between this all-girl football team and Thompson High School from Alabama.

Let the chips fall where they may.

Let's just do away with women's sports and have genderless tryouts

I'm not too bothered by it when biological men are winning all of the Womens sports championships. American women themselves are largely to blame for this mess.

NPR Claims ‘Limited Scientific Evidence’ Men Have ‘Physical Advantage’ over Women in Sport

Well, at any given moment there is only a finite number of studies which have been done on the subject, so even if that number is ten thousand it technically fits the definition of "limited".

I'm sure NPR explained why there's never been a female NFL linema... err... woman, right? Or why the fastest person in the world is always a man? Or the strongest person? Or the person that has run the farthest without a break? Or the fastest swimmer in the world? Etc.

All kidding aside, there have been multiple studies over decades that show men have roughly 40% greater upper body strength than that of a women and 33% greater lower body strength (accounting for height, age and exercise levels).

Also, it's self-evident to anyone who has ever set foot in a gym or had multiple encounters (of any sort) with someone of the opposite sex. Anyone trying to push ideas to the contrary are completely denying every bit of legitimate science data out there on the subject, all to try to have some sort of rhetorical foundation for a bullshite philosophy.

You defeat your own argument if you have to lie to prove a point.

National Public Radio (NPR) claimed that “there is limited scientific research” supporting the idea that biological males have a “physical advantage” over biological females in competitive sports.
No on has reasearched it because it's f*cking obvious they do.

Isn’t Thompson pretty good?

They should go through somebody like Ouachita Parish first

There may be limited scientific evidence because it is such an obvious thing to study…how would you get funding? Who would pay for that?
I bet there is limited scientific evidence that water is wet…no one is studying that…

Not that simple. NPR doesn't actually receive direct federal funding but instead gets grants and such. But even then that just amounts to 2% of their budget. Honestly I'm not sure why they keep that still since it's so contentious and such a small amount of their budget overall.

NPR receives funding for less than 1 percent of its budget directly from the federal government and receives 10% of its budget from federal, state, and local governments indirectly.

LINK

That said, whether directly or indirectly funded or that it’s only a small percentage of their budget is irrelevant.

Our tax dollars are funding an overtly bias left leaning propaganda network.

And Planned Parenthood doesn't use tax dollars for abortions.

If Congress tried to ban indirect money from getting to NPR would they fight it? I'm guessing they would howl.
