From the previous post:

Not that easy to do. You can’t just drop a hose in the river and start pumping. It has to be hard drafting hose and most trucks, don’t have that capacity or very little if they do. Trucks that came in from other municipalities that are inner city prob have none. They would have to get the truck (s) on top the levy to draft and then pump from there via supply hose to the other trucks. The other factor that would be a hinderance is all the shite in the water. Drafting hoses would have a screen as well as screens on intakes but they would probably clog fast and often. You’d be fighting that more than the fire

Wow. Reading the threads on Facebook, I have never seen such overt racism as I have in those posts. There's some seething hatred from a lot of people in those threads.

I know. It’s crazy. They act like they were personally enslaved there. They also believe that “their people” are the only race to ever be enslaved. They also conveniently “forget” that their fellow blacks owned many, many slaves. The ignorance is mind boggling.

They refuse to admit they are no different today than before, still enslaved, just to the Federal government instead. Except now they don’t have to work, otherwise, a vast majority are still on a plantation.

Spot on !

Obviously you don't understand how drafting water works. Someone posted about it earlier and it's not as simple as just tossing a hose in the river and transferring it across the levee to equipment on the fire scene to be used to work the fire.

In order to draft, you need to use hard hose that doesn't collapse. Most pumpers parked atop the levee would not be able to draft the water from the river due to the height needed to even reach the pump to transfer it to the fire scene.

Let ‘em have their wannabe “gotcha” on the race score board. Like Mannie Fresh said “Their credit is still swamped!”

Guarantee you not one of them can name a single one of their ancestors yet they feel so personally impacted by this. Victim mentality going strong with these folks.

The house is 160 years old. It is weird to assume arson right off the bat.

old houses burn all the time. Years of cobbled together electrical along with balloon framing turning the walls into chimneys is a firebox waiting for a spark.

Yep! And they burn like crazy once that spark ignites. Along with Tezcuco, countless others have burned over the years. Laura Plantation had a terrible fire in the 90s. Frogmore up near Ferriday burned just a couple of years ago and was rebuilt. Really common way for antebellum homes to meet their end.

It’s not 2021. Trump won. That shite is dying out aside from the moans of the racebaiters and grifters.

How in the hell did this thread turn into a slavery denial plot thread?

quite the contrary. My point being that preserving the tangible vestiges of slavery for the future is an important educational touch point. Only here, ironically, its the blacks that are wanting it all to be destroyed.

Two things can be true. One can marvel at the craftsmanship and history of a home AND understand the abject cruelty of slavery in the south. It isn't that hard for most people to hold space in their brains for both of these facts.

It's a swinging pendulum. It will swing back to the left and we will have to endure even more retarded behavior from the Dems then it swings back to the right and the insane part of the Repubs get to force their ideas on us again.

Well.. tell the there is good news...

According to wikipedia, the owners have already said they plan to rebuild it.

quote:

On May 15, 2025, a fire broke out in the southern portion of Nottaway Plantation, severely damaging much of the main house. Several structures were spared, including the Boys' House (a former bachelor pad for the Randolph sons), the Overseer's Cottage, surrounding cottages, the Randolph Ballroom, and the Randolph family cemetery. Initially, the current owners of Nottoway had stated they plan to rebuild and restore the historic mansion.

While the fire was initially contained to the south bedroom wing of the mansion, embers reignited by 6:00 PM CDT, spreading to the main block of the mansion. The main house was a total loss by 7:30 PM. [8] The concrete foundations comprising the ground floor and remnants of the southeast side of the mansion are all that remain.

Wikipedia

And maybe the contractors will decide.. Because slavery.. That no black person should be hired to do any job involving rebuilding it. I am sure that's what their ancestors would want right?.. What they call it? Generational trauma? Having a black person on the job site could be a safety hazard. Their PTSD from what their great great great grandparents experienced might kick in and they could harm people

Definitely a disgusting bunch. They are ignorant of two key factors...
First, if you want to erase all structures tied to slavery, you will be destroying pretty much any historical site older than 170 years, including wonders like the Pyramids, the Colosseum, and the Great Wall.
Second, the majority of the people who will be financially impacted by this will be black citizens of the White Castle area.
