re: Notice to first time mothers: Your friends do not care about multiple daily baby updates

I swore I'd never turn into one of those parents who posts their kid's picture all the time.
Then my son was born
IDGAF what anyone thinks about it when I post selfies and shite with him now. I post 'em as much for me and my wife as for anyone else, tbh.

Nice pic T-Bird. Having a kid does something to you that is unexplained. Can't believe my daughter is 2 now.

yet you felt compelled to tell me that you did not care
interesting.....
and you felt the need to post on a completely different medium from the offending internet sources that you do not care about their baby updates.
interesting...

Sounds like social media may not be for you. Essentially what you described is exactly the point of Facebook and Instagram.

They do it for the family. On a related note, literally no one gives a shite about your new "PR" for rowing or some other dumb crossfit nonsense, either.

I never look at snap chat stories but I guess I'm just really manly

I'm not On there and never will be but that's pretty much all People use it for according to my understanding.

No. I felt compelled to remind you this is not Facebook because you sound like a bored soccer mom complaining about a store manager.

Buckle up, it goes by faster and faster. Mine turns 10 in a couple of months. Son will be 5 this summer, and another arrival in May.
I used to post more stuff on FB, before Instagram came out. The last couple of weeks have been nice when I open the app and see the things I've posted around the holidays with the kids. Really hits me when I see old pictures of them with my grandparents, who are no longer with us. Most everyone I know has kids about the same ages as mine, and we all share stuff so our family and friends from back home can see. Some get carried away with it, like my cousin who goes dark for weeks, but all of a sudden they're on a little weekend trip and there are 14 posts by lunch time.

So disclaimer, our first child is due next month, so I do not know how it will be.
There is a line between 5+ posts a day and a few cute pictures during the week. For some of my family up north (extended at least) that will only know my child through pictures.

Otherwise, you really cannot bitch if you are looking or subscribed to it. People are going to do these things on social media.
Newsflash, scrolling through their pictures is on you pal.

You want some cheese with that whine?
Posted on 1/3/18 at 9:19 am to Rouge
These kinds of complaints are equally dumb.
What is it that you’re expecting from social media? All it takes is scrolling past them, who gives a damn?
