That might be an option. My wife and I really like Tennessee. If you're serious, I will reach out tomorrow
Ok. One is at a private school and the other two are in healthcare. Let me make sure they are still available and I'll update this tomorrow if they are.

This is exactly the reason nobody should give a 2 weeks notice.
I get your point but this probably isn't best example as it sounds like company has given him 2+ weeks notice of lay off and a severance package.

This (and solving crimes) is what makes the OT great

Just about all of them. Smaller gas focused players have already started.
Majors will start towards the end of this year and 2025.

What’s E&P’s?
Exploration and Production companies; this is the upstream side of the business or where they are taking oil and gas out of the ground.

His email has an extra D in it that his username does not. That may be the issue.

Companies don't generally lay off accountants
It sounds like you’ve never worked for a large company.
Companies lay off everyone. Layoff/RIF plans are often high level and rarely precise down to the individual. It’s most likely the case that the entire group the OP was supporting in his role got let go.

Sorry to hear that. Good luck! You should be able to find another accounting job fairly easy.

Sorry to hear that. Being laid off is never fun. Hope the severance is decent and you find something better soon.
I disagree. I have been laid off so many times it is refreshing. I learned about 5 years into my career that I could make a living with a 9-5 job or without one...it has been extremely liberating for the last 36 years to know that I could survive without being an employee of someone else's business. For people who have not experienced it unless they curl up in a ball and quit most of the time it works out for the better and invigorates their career. I can't imagine being my age (59) and having only worked a few places and worrying about a job.
