Millions to raise it about 8”? I thought it would at least be a couple of feet taller.

No, but I wish they'd hurry up and finish 22. It's a cluster.

The new railings are more structurally sound and should stop a car. The old tube rails crumpled like a tin can.

Couldn’t they just put a chain link fence for much less. And be done with it and it be much higher than 8 inches. Next thing you know they are going to come out and say 8 wasn’t enough and need another 8 inches.

A 24 inch fence on each side would have worked better.

Cables on the interstate seem effective. I would have thought that would have been far cheaper to install. My guess...somebody got some substantial "speaking fees" out of this deal.

I doubt they'll use the lanes for that purpose... To much risk getting plowed from a texter or drunk.

Should be ok at that height. I believe it is higher than the no rail on the other side and no cars ver go over on the NB side.

My question...why was Texas A&M paid for the research when LSU and their well respected engineering school is right down the road?

Obviously someone on the Causeway Commission had a kid at A&M that needed a senior project.

eta: also, this project was sold on safety and the guardrails, justifying the doubling of tolls. If I remember correctly, that is ~30% of the budget, the rest is for the shoulders. Typical La BS.

Just wait until someone’s jacked up pickup truck goes flying into the lake.

And they will be saying it was too low.

The toll should be northbound. Who would pay to go to New Orleans?

They should've added a slight cant to it to help launch bad drivers off the road.

Seems like a few northshore folks are here, please allow a quick hijack..

Anyone know anything about the plan for the 190/I12 interchange? Signs have been in place for no less than 2 years for 2 lanes going from 190N to 12W and one to 12E but no hint of any work beginning.

No clue but MF’ers need to learn what that long merge lane is for. They built that so cars can speed up and then get on I12. Instead, idiots cross the solid line and jump on the interstate at 30mph and cause the cars on the interstate to slam on their brakes. Instant traffic jam. SPEED UP BEFORE YOU MERGE IDIOTS!
