Pretty smart on the dindu's end. Avoided kidnapping charges.

I suppose I feel more comfortable having them inside the house whether I woke them or not. I’d rather them crying inside for 2 minutes than sitting in a car unattended for 30 seconds.

Also I may be taking for granted the click in baby seat that you can bring in without waking them. I also assume this is a small baby.

Ahh still at that stage where you can go in public I see. Yeah try that with a 14 month old who is walking.

My wife’s grandmother was robbed and carjacked at gunpoint at 8 AM recently in New Orleans. New Orleans is tShithole.

No, a sleeping child is not the first thing I move out of a vehicle if i need to make several trips to and from the car. That allows me more actual "eyes on baby" time while completing my task

What, in your opinion, is more dangerous; leaving your sleeping baby in your car, which a movable object, while you frick around doing something else or, taking the car seat out of the car and placing the baby into the safety of your home? But I see you've already answered this question - taking the groceries inside is more important.

I would suggest the "danger" posed by choosing one or the other is statistically insignificant in most cases. The general parental urge, though, is to let a sleeping baby be, unless and until there is a need to do otherwise. The natural inclination will be to unload the car first and then get the child. The only way I'd assign even a tiny bit of fault to this mother would be if there had been some sort of rash of carjackings in her immediate neighborhood.

I would suggest otherwise, and that the natural urge would be to keep the baby as secure as possible, inside your home where it normally sleeps.

Are you suggesting that you leave the baby be until it wakes up? Or just until you are finished doing what you are doing (ie convenient for you).

Also it’s illegal to leave a baby in a car unattended in LA and most other states so there’s that.

Usually until you are finished unloading, but I'll be honest, there were times on a nice day, that if my kid was sleeping, I'd roll the window down and let them sleep, while I sat on the front porch. I guess that was a horrible risk.

If we're really talking statistical "dangers", though, they were infinitely higher for the kid when you were actually driving the car with them in it, you realize, then parked in your driveway?
