Meh.
Exactly.
Some days he was the only one in the district? Only 8 guys across all districts?
Chief might want to dig further before speaking about abandonment.

The exact mother fricking opposite is true. The retard mayor, retard DA, the retard government, and the retard citizens who vote for these retards abandoned him. Leave all the criminals to do whatever the frick they want to do with the officers like this guy with no help whatsoever.
Good for this guy. He made the very smart decision and not only will he be happy, but he will live a much longer life.
frick shite hole fricking New Orleans and frick Destroya. Dumb scumbag really is the devil.

I know 4 officers that have left NOPD and working in other parishes (JPSO & PPSO). Safer (albeit that's a question sometimes), but at least you have more support.

Teedy might find the solution in Singapore!

As soon as you cross into JP on I-10W there is giant billboard for recruiting JPSO officers.
And honestly I don’t blame anyone switching from NOPD to JPSO.
There need to be a change from the top down for moral at NOPD.

The only poll that matters is the one on election day, and the idiots vote for the people who flatly state they hate the police and detest law and order. It doesn't matter what they respond to some opinion poll. If you're too stupid to not take your leaders' words and actions at face value, you deserve what you get.
Well yea, people have been voting against their best interests since forever.
I never argued people aren’t idiots, but I got downvoted into oblivion for saying most people don’t enjoy living in lawlessness

Ferguson said Tuesday that the department will begin reassigning some district detectives and some administrative officers from headquarters to uniform roles that make them available for street duty.
This is how you make even more people quit.
Fantastic idea there, Chief.
Put completely unqualified and unmotivated cops on patrol.
New Orleans is FUBAR.

It's not just New Orleans...it's everywhere. This country went fricking stupid a couple years ago.

Your detectives/ investigators are usually the best of the group minus the years of service. Put them on patrol duty and your major crime suffers.
IE: your house gets burglarized they don't come out and process the scene and get DNA, fingerprints, surveillance video, etc because they were out working all night.
Or those same detectives/ investigators don't finish their files and the case gets dismissed due to them covering shift shortages after making good arrests.
Pick your poison. Thank a liberal every chance you get. #Defund the police!

So the Superintendent threw the guy under the bus, bold strategy to boost morale. fricking morans.
Starts at the mayors office and works on down. Don’t have to look any further than Baton Rouge to see what idiots not qualified can do to a city in no time….

Don't worry. NO has a plan.
Help is on the way.

All jokes aside, it's sad to see. Wife and I used to like going to New Orleans. Now, we won't step foot there. We'll just drive by it.

They say "low number on patrol". I passed Costco an hour air that toddler shot himself and there were 15+ police units there. The next day I saw a vehicle pulled over by undercover with 6 NOPD units backing up the 3 unmarked.
I think nopd over responds to certain calls while not responding to others.
Also criminals seeing this have to feel emboldened. You can call in a fake emergency in a district and commit a crime elsewhere in the district knowing they can't respond in time.

No, the democrats who run these big cities have turned their back on the officers and will do whatever is necessary to prevent those who commit crime from actually being held accountable. They get what they deserve.
