But that security guard was being a prick to these young men for smoking cigars while celebrating their victory. NOLA has more important shite to be worried about than this.
Wow it's like you don't even know that smoking in the Super dome is prohibited for a lot of reasons other than smoking in a confined space where other people will have to involuntarily participate in their disgusting celebration is trashy AND against the law and super dome policy.
Oh and OBJ is a fricking retard. He was attention whoring and is now getting the attention he deserves. Unfortunately now LSU is having to get some of his attention also because he's ignorant.
I also agree LSU needs to protect itself from brain dead POS like OBJ and ban him from the facility and attending LSU related events. He's just not smart enough to be trusted to represent the university.

He was definitely not sober

He shouldn’t have struck the officer in any way shape or form.

I wasn't surprised to see that it was a male cop.

Officer at center of Odell Beckham Jr. butt-slap case says he resisted urge to punch player, decided against on the spot-arrest due to 'jovial' atmosphere of the locker room.

It should be noted that yelling "Good Game!" after an arse slapping is an affirmative defense against this charge. The referees will need to review the tape and confer with NCAA HQ before making the call. I suspect clear and convincing evidence may let him walk.
For that matter, the same utterance also protects you from any accusations of homosexual or racial behavior. It will IN NO WAY protect you from sexual accusations if the receiver of the arse slap is a female (or person who identifies as female) however. So Slapper Beware.

Irrelevant fact.

Interesting
Authorities originally sought a warrant for a misdemeanor sexual battery charge, but it was declined by a judge
There will be a good number of posters who think Beckham should be charged with sexual battery.

Obj is a selfish prick.
He stole from the percieved integrity of the players with his money TV stunt and has gotten more TV attention than the team.
He is a selfish POS

i get that the guard didn't suffer some huge trauma. but, had that been out on the street things may gone very badly for obj.

This is nothing but a "it was caught on camera so we have to send a message so people can't think it is okay to do this sort of thing" message.
Odell does some stuff I would describe as "silly", but the cameras always follow him. There were a lot of players down there, but the camera is always on Odell (which he should be aware of).. But this was in the locker room with a team that just won the national championship.
This is being reported everywhere as if he is wanted for murder.

What he did could easily be a misd sexual battery. It's literally a battery to the breast or buttocks, whether or not the victim is clothed.

Does it matter the sexual orientation of the perpetrator concerning simple/sexual battery debate?

The dude was doing his job and was told by a supervisor to tell them to put it out. Nothing wrong with what he was doing. He probably should have got a coach to handle it but either way, still nothing wrong with it.
He threatened to arrest the players. Can’t arrest someone for smoking. You can fine them and tell them to leave.

Nope, the law just states the unwanted touching of the breast or buttocks... which is exactly what he did

No, and it doesn't require any kind of sexual intent or purpose.
quote:
A. Misdemeanor sexual battery is the intentional touching of the breasts or buttocks of the victim by the offender using any instrumentality or any part of the body of the offender, directly or through clothing, or the intentional touching of the breasts or buttocks of the offender by the victim using any instrumentality or any part of the body of the victim, directly or through clothing, when the offender acts without the consent of the victim.
B. Whoever commits the crime of misdemeanor sexual battery shall be fined not more than one thousand dollars, or imprisoned for not more than six months, or both.

I’d like to compare this thread to the 5k guy’s thread
Can’t speak for anyone but myself, but my answer wouldn’t change. Regardless of how big a douchebag another adult is or isn’t being, in this day and age you can’t subject them to a clearly unsolicited or unwelcome slap on the arse on camera and NOT realize that you’re opening yourself up to the possibility of some pretty serious fallout ... unless maybe you’re mentally incompetent, 1000 years old, or really do live under a rock.
Feelings don’t matter. Intent doesn’t necessarily matter. Like it or not, that’s just how it is.
