Damn. Worth it to fly into Baton Rouge and drive to Nola?
No.
The only real issues is the Uber/Lyft lines. the baggage stuff will be fine.
There ARE issues like the traffic and taxi/uber stuff but some of these people have a major axe to grind and are overblowing everything

How can they drive pillings when they finally came up with the divergent diamond traffic pattern this year?
Granted they may have done some minor work. I will give you this Jindal even authorized 3.5 million to start the preliminary work.
On a side note, If it takes 4 years and over 200 million dollars just to build a ramp. There is a reason why we are dead last at things.
Road construction projects grow at the rate of medical inflation. One year a project is projected to costs 90 million next year its 120, and the year after 180, etc.

So the people who 'run' the airport shouldn't tell workers where/how to enter the building?
They should tell the contractor management, who are responsible for teaching/coaching their employees.

Save the money they were going to spend to tear it down and let Southwest make whatever improvements they want to make to the concourse they choose.
So you think that whatever the demolition cost would be, you could fully renovate the terminal for that same expense, for SWA to use?
From your film credit and tariff threads, I knew your financial skills were weak, but this is pathetic.

So.... if say a week or so before moving people are asking about it and the airlines have no answer other than 'we were not told either' doesn't that kind of fall on the airPORT? The AIRPORT is responsible for telling the AIRLINES..... you seriously don't know how incompetent the AIRPORT management/staff whatever really are.

I'm starting to pick up on something... you have an ax to grind, don't you? Did you lose a contract or something?
The airlines are footing the bill, I find it hard to believe they didn't know anything.
But like you said... union employees can't have a lunch and learn...

Like you said.... it could be done in an hour..... I'm telling you that the airport never even thought about it until workers started to ask.... 'hey which door do I use to reach my time clock'....
So one hour into the new opening the employees were trained.

No ax to grind. I just have way more experience than you do. The airlines were behind the new airport until details started coming out. When the opening day was announced (for may 14th i think) the airport said any airline that didn't move to the new facility would be fined for everyday it wasn't over there. The airlines knew what a shite fest it was going to be.
The SWA regional manager said that this was the first time in his experience that an airport met next to zero of what was asked.
Deltas said something similar.
Im just being honest about the union thing. When I worked in Pittsburgh U.S. Air had a strong union at that airport.... if a plane was supposed to push at 8:20 a.m. and the crews '15 minute break' started at 8:15 a.m. that plane was not leaving the gate until the crew returned. So if it is written in the contract that an employee has a '30 minute lunch' it is to be uninterrupted and if it is the lunch break restarts from the time of it being interrupted.... I have an old union handbook in my attic that says that.

We are flying in to ride and for the ball then flying out. I’m not cut out for lines like that, especially with a hangover.

Day after Thanksgiving could be brutal if things aren't worked out.

I'd definitely miss my flight. I'm not getting there at 5:00 for a 7:00 flight. I don't know anyone who has ever done that.
The same people who wouldn't beat up an old lady for calling them names. aka EVERYONE besides you.

It’s going to be very interesting to see what percentage BTR and GPT’s air traffic passenger count looks like month after month for next 18 months.

Has anyone with tsa precheck flown out of the new shite show yet? If so, any issues?
Posted on 11/11/19 at 4:25 pm to Ba Ba Boooey
Earlier posts said the line was as long as regular.
Posted on 11/11/19 at 4:25 pm to Ba Ba Boooey
TSA Pre-check has been hit or miss. If you time it right there is no line (middle of the day) but if you time it wrong you'll be waiting 45 mins to an hour.
