I assume he's talking about the ones in the WHD that aren't run by the Port and patrolled by HPD.

I agree that is wishcasting No wishes necessary for increased crime in NOLA during Mardi Gras.

The garage has security I thought.

How much for the return? Don't most drivers still decline trips across the lake?

Showing as $60 right now. You'll pay more going home, but it's cheaper than a last minute hotel in the city and would require no effort or risk

You don't know where you're going until you pick the passenger up. Only thing a driver gets is a notification that the trip is anticipated to be longer than 45 minutes.

But I personally loved those as a driver. Usually a better rate of return on one long trip instead of several minimum fare rides.

great plan if you want to not have a ride back because drivers reject your ride (or accept it because surge pricing brings it up to $400)

Stay in a hotel.

I have been before too, and when the alcohol starts flowing, it won't let up. It is so much fun when the floats arrive and you want to be a part of it. You don't want to cut yourself off after two drinks.

Stay in a hotel and have fun. Invites to the party don't come often, so take advantage of it.

And don't rely on an UBER. If you are lucky to get one it will cost you as much as a hotel room. Imagine trying to get an UBER while drunk and tired, and there is a long wait or none available.

Update: Friend who rides in parade is going to let us get ready in his hotel room and preggo can nap before if necessary. So I just need to hopefully get in the Harrahs parking garage before Iris gets downtown, assuming the garage isn't full already. Thanks for all the suggestions.

The only reason I said get a hotel was not the crime or car broken into like all of the people on here, its more about logistics.

Getting there, parking, getting out with a pregnant wife will set yourself up for a lot of traffic, re-routes, etc.

If you get there early, and leave early before the Extravaganza ends but after the parade is over, you may be ok.

Any AirBnb's available?

You can park at the super dome but it’s a shitshow.

And I don’t think an 8 month pregnant woman is gonna be happy about the hike from the dome to the convention center
