Couldn't find the original thread to see who predicted what but here it is...

quote:

Jason Adams, a local businessman who killed a young woman when he took her for a drunken, high-speed spin and crashed his Lamborghini into the Tchoupitoulas Street floodwall, is headed to prison. Criminal District Judge Robin Pittman handed Adams, 32, his agreed-upon sentence - 10 years, five of them suspended - at an emotional hearing Friday where family members of the victim, 23-year-old Kristi Lirette, filled four rows of gallery aisles. Most wore yellow.

Adams pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide on April 30, two years after the crash. Both of Lirette's parents gave victim impact statements before Pittman handed down the sentence and a court bailiff handcuffed Adams, who was headed to state custody.

Good. Dude basically showed no remorse at any point after the crash. He tried to play the victim.

It wasn't even his Lambo, he borrowed it from a friend. Just a pathetic beta trying to impress a girl and failed miserably.

Honestly it's fricking stupid that it takes two years to deal with this. Right to a speedy trial my arse.

This doesn't really apply here since he was the one on trial and his lawyer was most likely requesting continuances.

She's still awaiting trial on that charge but pleaded guilty to DWI in a separate incident this past April and got the typical slap on the wrist, mostly fines, substance abuse therapy, community service and suspended sentence on jail time.
