Do you expect less with New Orleans officials? And of course the usuals are cheering the escapees on.

The superintendent was not notified until 2 hours after they had escaped.

Waiting over 2 hours to notify the public about the escape of murders from her jail is criminal

Apparently they flew the coop around midnight and were discovered missing at 8:30 this morning. Witnesses saw men in orange jump suits crossing I-10 at about 1:00 AM, and detectives came to Fox 8 across the street looking for video footage.

DA Jason Williams just said he called the Governor, US Marshalls and LA State police at 11:15 and they were unaware and had not heard from the Sheriff.

Helena Moreno said state law requires notification to the public and law enforcement within 9 minutes of a jail break.

What a disaster this Soros backed sherriff has been. She's lucky she won the property tax renewal (by 4 votes) before this clown show.

ETA: our building in the CBD is locked down, with security posted at two unlocked doors after one was captured on Royal St in the Quarter.

Or what? I fricking hate laws without consequences. Hutson should be removed. Utterly incompetent.

Same.

If there are no consequences for breaking a law, then it doesn’t exist.

The utterly deplorable electorate of this accursed city, peerless in their staggering imbecility, obstinately persists in exalting such contemptible figures as Sheriff Hutson, Mayor Cantrell, and Oliver Thomas to the pinnacles of authority. Their abject ignorance festers as a malignant scourge, a self-inflicted calamity that dooms this wretched metropolis to languish in a quagmire of anarchy and ignominy.

Just got from off the spillway which was shut down. About 20 cop cars and search boats. One white SUV with temp plates on the shoulder. Looks like a few of them jumped off the bridge.

Nah, someone committed suicide and fell into the water. My buddy is an officer and texted us about it.

I guess there are different protocols between Federal facilities and a shitshow facility like NOLA is apparently running. For Min & Med custody inmates required at least hourly counts overnight (they were still locked down), Max custody was every 15-30 mins depending on status.

They weren't discovered missing for 8 hours or more? So much for rolling back the Fed Consent Decree....
