Why is ochsner transferring to OLOL? To my knowledge they aren’t even close to filling all their beds. Also, I would think ochsner would transfer within their own system

I would suspect that they are making prep for next week, everyone is expecting business to pick up for them in a big way.

So every positive case is getting a bed now?
About 20 to 25% do. 500 today with 2000 cases.
Next week when LA is pushing 4000 cases with 1000+/- needing beds and 400, ventilators things will be getting chippy.
That is when Anderson Cooper will make his triumphant return to NOLA.

How much longer until these field hospitals are built by our military? Wasn’t that supposed to be a thing?

People like you kill me. I am not a Trump guy, but it is clear that is not what he said. Watch the entire clip, and then tell me what he said.

Besides her mounting tax personal problems, Latoya has it all under control.

UMC anticipates opening 24 ICU beds in Tower 3 within the week. Currently making rooms negative pressure. Monitors and equipment already ordered. MICU pretty much all Covid. TICU is holding usual MICU patients. More than 1 isolation floor full of non icu Covid patients.
Children’s cleared acute care floor to take overflow “clean” adults from LCMC hospitals (UMC, NOEH, Touro, WJ). No respiratory issues allowed. Also moved PICU in with new CICU to renovate PICU. May delay renovations to be able to step up adults to intensive care if needed. Again trying not to allow any possible Covid patients to keep Childrens a clean hospital as much as possible.
NOEH opened new floor and is running more than double their average daily census for the hospital. Children’s has been sending nurses to help their staff.
LCMC tracking Covid cases and testing through Children’s transfer center.
Most LCMC hospitals reusing gowns. Either one per staff or one per patient for gowns unless it gets ripped or something. PPE kept locked up. Major shipment placed and paid for. Just waiting for backlog for it to get there.
Don’t know Ochsner or Tulane. Negative pressure rooms and space are easy to make. The vents and nurses are still going to be the toughest resources.

There is plenty of bed space in BR. OLOL main campus and children’s patient count is waaaay down. Mostly due to folks putting off treatment or elective procedures due to the virus. Wife was bored to death yesterday at work.
