Yep. I'm leaning suicide over accident. But a suicide made to look like an accident.

Edit: wasn't a lawyer

First thing I thought. More than likely just an accident.

They're reporting it was a garage attendant.

Yeah I do. I've been in that deck, and that's not really a place that it would be easy to accedently go out at that speed.

The glass on the garage is annealed glass. Depending on when the glass was installed, it has to be tempered/laminated if less than 18" from the floor/ground. The presence of annealed glass would mean the car either had to jump over at least an 18" curb, or the glass was installed >30 years ago.

ETA: Standard tempered or laminated glass would not have stopped a car either, so your "reinforced" glass point is moot.

My wife works in that building and is pissed that she'll have to park elsewhere for work today. She's cold-blooded.

And no pics GFY.

Steel bumper - that's a truck - woman theory may be disproved.

That's probably the barrier cable hanging out the building window.

Just finding out about this. I'm parked in that garage right now. And from the looks of it, nearby where they drove through the window. Same floor, same side. Don't know how someone could have done that. There's a raised curb and some other reinforcements before the window. Have to not only smash the gas, but also get D/R confused.

Doubt it was suicide. No guarantee that would kill you.

Regardless, what a shitty way to go.

was about to say something similar. Its not like its the glass for mikes cage or something. 2 pieces of 1/4" glass wont stop a whole lot especially a 4000lb truck

That's crazy. I've only been in this garage for Wednesday at the square and while it can be tricky im not sure how this is possible. Was anyone else hurt in this? Seems unlikely a car could fall from a garage in the CBD and only injure/kill one person.

You can clearly see a steel cable and attached concrete anchor hanging out the broken window in one of the photos.
