WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Authorities are not seeing spikes in coronavirus cases in places that are reopening but are seeing increases in some areas that remain closed, U.S. health secretary Alex Azar said on Sunday.
"We are seeing that in places that are opening, we're not seeing this spike in cases," Azar said on CNN's "State of the Union" program. "We still see spikes in some areas that are in fact close to very localized situations."

Very surprising to hear that on CNN.
I'm wondering how they'll spin it. They need this virus for continued ratings

People are still social distancing without having to shut down the economy.

They don’t need to spin it. It is too soon for a spike to have occurred. It will take at least two months before we start to get a read on whether or not there will be a spike.

It is a big mistake for people in favor of reopening to make the argument over whether or not there will be a spike. That is an argument they will probably lose. The right argument is whether the spike, if it occurs, will overwhelm our hospitals. That is an argument they will likely win.

Yeah there will be a spike, no doubt about that. Will it stress our Healthcare system? Probably not.

As someone put it the other day people are still social distancing and mostly people not at risk are out. So it will take two or three degrees of spreading before we start seeing the spike.

The liberals in Texas that are begging to be locked down would disagree.

more cases equal more immunity. Hopefully without overwhelming our hospitals. Let it ride

Sure, but they're not as blatant as CNN in stretching or even fabricating stories.

Oh but that can’t be! We are all going to die if we return to normal!

This was all BS from the beginning and my wife had the virus so I was up close and personal with it.

Locking people who are healthy and asymtomatic unlikely to be tested. With older people is a recipe for disaster.

I bet areas opened up have more infections. People just aren't symptomatic and tested.

See NYC!

Quarantine bullshite is counterproductive!

I’m all aboard the open it all back up bandwagon, but isn’t it a little soon to call that in a lot of places?

Agree 100%

Like Trump calling out Sweden for higher death rate.
While they are way further towards herd immunity.

Yep. But there seems already a media narrative that recently opened places are seeing a surge. It seems probably to combat misinformation
