Most Tulane students and white hipsters aren’t from Louisiana. They’re primarily from the Northeast, Ohio, Chicago, or Southern California. They come to New Orleans for the party and the “culture” while having nothing but contempt for the history and actual people who call this place home. These are transient types who come here for a party in their 20’s and then move on to another hipster haven.
Also, NOPD officers are required to live in the city limits. This policy has been a real problem for recruiting enough qualified officers to be anywhere near full strength, but it does ensure that the officers come from the communities they police.
BRPD doesn’t do this, and all their a-hole cops are d-bags from Denham that 100% have an us vs them complex with the people they’re policing. I’ve experienced it many many times living in BR. BRPD officers often hold the citizens of BR in contempt and treat them like the enemy.

He was trying to keep people out of the road since the cops warned them they would be arrested for getting in the road.

The protests in Memphis were led by a young black pastor. Imagine that... A little Jesus injected goes a long way. The methed out white supremacists stayed in West Memphis Arkansas. They new they'd get whacked if they crossed the bridge.

On the steps of St. Louis Cathedral there was a decent sized group of people all praying together. It was definitely a multicultural moment which was a much needed glimpse into the good side of humanity.

Atlanta, yes. Atlanta has a high level of middle and upper class blacks.
You have Morehouse (including it's school of medicine), Spelman, and Clark Atlanta. Morehouse and Spellman are pretty good. Clark Atlanta is about on the level of Southern.

Funny you say that. But I work with a black guy that moved from Philadelphia to Houston about 2 years ago and he said that he's noticed much less racism here than anywhere up North. He's never had issues with police in Texas and he gets pulled over all the time for speeding. Never was he in fear for his life.
You have shitty people in every group of the population (including police), I'm just sick of the slim minority being perceived as the majority.
