Saw on facebook just last night that the rioters were making their way to Germantown. That they'd already boarded up Saddle Creek and closed the Kroger and Target. Drove past Saddle Creek this morning... they sure got those boards taken down quickly.

I definitely see a majority black cops up here in Memphis.
What was even more interesting was following the FB Live videos on the Memphis protests yesterday. News stations were live reporting that protestors were getting on I-55; the comments were a massive FLOOD of people (majority black) commenting and reacting extremely negatively to blocking roads and asking if any of these people were even locals or were they bussed in.

I would guess Jacksons population is not large enough for the Antifa guys to get the amount of damage they are hoping for. Not to mention downtown is a shell of itself already. Hard to loot an empty building.

Jackson actually got a mayor who is a BLM/Antifa type. When people actually are put in charge, they tend to act differently. He probably put the message out that he's not going to tolerate it.

New Orleans PD sucks at most things, but they are probably the best in the world at crowd control, and BRPD and BRSO borrow a lot of their techniques.
Also, there are only two main forms of crime in New Orleans:
1. Raiding tourists
2. Battling over turf.
The criminals LOVE their city and don’t want to see it destroyed. They know they can rob tourists without worrying about reprisals from their families, but they actually go out of their way to avoid attacking locals unless it’s rival games engaged in a turf war.
Also, there are only two main forms of crime in New Orleans:
1. Raiding tourists

"known for" - you mean what the media in NY and LA describe...not what actually takes place....I guarantee there are many more people on this board that live in the South that are good friends with people from other races than there are in northeast, midwest, and west coast where populations are majority white

New Orleans is still one big fricking village. Most of the real locals know someone who knows someone and so even the institutions like the police are not completely isolated from the people they police.
Most of the protestors appeared to be hipsters and Tulane students who are still out of their depth in generally penetrating New Orleans society.
Plus it is fricking hot, who wants to wear black and engage in insurrection. It is fricking taxing.

Geographically in the South, culturally, not so much. Atlanta probably has more west coast and northern transplants than any other "southern" city.
