There’s nothing wrong with kids having chores

I don’t have kids but I find it odd that kids have no chores anymore

I'm not sure when the trend to have lawn services do yards started. If you are able bodied and/or have able bodied kids, you should never waste money on a lawn service.

for starting, better late than never

You never know, maybe the OP is a very busy working man who has to travel all the time, and it's more worth his time to have a service mow the lawn. Perhaps OP's yard is enormous, and the job for 1 man could take 3 or 4 hours to finish.

It's all well and good until your children mangle your yard because they suck.

I have a 10K square foot yard. Javier mows it for $15 a service.

Easily worth paying him that.

They will run over a steel pipe or short-cut stump or something else to break the mower - broke mower, no mowing.

I have a neighbor with teenage kids.

They use a lawn service.

I don't get it. Kids need to know the value of hard work and chores. It isn't even a big yard.

Yeah and wheel around corners on a riding mower scalping the turns like an idiot OR letting the push mower drop like a damn ton of bricks when coming off the driveway and scalping a big circle in the grass, etc.

I promise there are ways a teenager can frick up a lawn.

Some don't take to the time to train their kids properly.
