Friday and Saturday nights that place was packed with Pits, weed, fights, alpines, and JBLs cranking more treble than bass.

Actually I guy I know.. had a run in with him.. not a bad guy.. kinda formidable was a moderate challenge to subdue for me. Mid 80s he thrashed some dude out at the point, then about 10 minutes after the guy walks back up to him and put two rounds from a 357 in is chest killing him..
point never was my gig..... but west end and some of those boat houses were very good to me.
Guy that go shot and killed was from a fairly prominent family.... but so was the shooter.

Hadn’t thought about Zebra in a long time. What about The Cold…one of my first concerts. Have a Zebra album still

Went to The Point all the time in the 80’s
Also- attended the LAST EVER showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show at Sena Mall on Vets by Bonnabel (where Martin Wine Cellar is now). Had to have been 1988 or 1989.

Yep, hung out over in the parking lot a little north of where the restaurants were on Friday and Saturday nights when we were Freshman in high school. By sophomore year we all mostly were able to get into actual bars like Neo Beach, Parlays, Bruno's, TJ's etc. But freshman year we'd drink out at the point. It was packed out there every weekend night

A bit young for that but the 90’s was when it started the nosedive into “yea brah” and “dude brah” with late night activities at shelter #2, brah.
The lake front has always been cheesy and transient as far as I can remember. Sad, such a great spot.

I was out there almost every day in the summer of 82. The water was disgusting because they were still dredging driveway shells. I used to ride my bike along there pretty much every day.
