If you would even have this thought after winning the lottery, you should probably file for divorce now. Do her that favor.

Would a prenup prevent the broad from taking 50% of your winnings?
Posted on 1/17/23 at 7:30 pm to GeneralLee
Why not just give them half who would not be content with that

Doesn’t matter. All the spouse had to do is bring your arse back to court again.

Probably only if you have a separate property regime. You’ll also need to prove that the money you purchased the ticket with was purchased with separate funds. For example, you keep a separate checking account that you do not do not give your spouse any access to and you do not commingle any funds.

Gonna have to kill her. Probably easier to just say hey, I’d like a divorce here’s 200 million for your troubles
Why risk going to jail. With that kinda money I’m faking my own death and moving to an island or another country. Get a little plastic surgery to look better and so no one recognizes you and live the life. Should be done rather easily with that kinda cheddar.
Sounds like this could be a Netflix movie in waiting…

No way in hell the judge will give the other half everything. The ticket is an investment. The investment was made while married.

I think the Nicholas Cage/Bridget Fonda movie "It Can Happen to You" is loosely based on a true story of something like that.
I hate to spoil the ending of the movie, but bitches always get more than their fair share.

I’m sure I’m not the first to say this but you can’t be this dumb

Date is easy to determine from the winning numbers.

Actually, the date and time (to the second) is printed on every ticket. I've purchased Powerball/Megamillion tickets in several states and they all give the date and time of purchase.
Look right above the actual Quick Pick numbers...

Right but what if you didn’t sign the ticket until the divorce finalized?

Community property when the asset is purchased. Better plan is to secretly give it to someone to cash for you and put the proceeds in an offshore unmarked account.
Better be someone you seriously trust. Baw could walk with all of it and you wouldn’t be able to do shite about it.
Probably would serve you right.
Posted on 1/17/23 at 8:45 pm to GeneralLee
Nope. You bought it with communal funds.

Do you have to claim it as an I individual?
Can you claim it as a trust?

ROFL .. this has happened before. When it went to court .. the other half was awarded everything.
