I am absolutely addicted to Zyn. The only time I don’t have one in during waking hours is when I am exercising. Never was a smoker but certainly got hooked on these little bastards. I have tried to quit but deep down I have just decided that I really don’t want to quit.

It’s not the tobacco that’s the carcinogen, it’s all the chemicals that the cigarette companies put into the tobacco that is. Cigarettes and dip is loaded with added chemicals to get you hooked, and these chemicals kill.

Does that mean nicotine is good for you? No mot necessarily. It will have some vascular side effects; however, there are studies showing its positive benefits on focus and memory. Vanderbilt has been doing extensive research on this. Nicotine seems to be closer to caffeine in terms of its health implications, but it still can’t quite shake the stigma of its association with cigarettes

Isn’t nicotine, especially chronic use, very bad for your cardiovascular system?

Yes, it destroys the tunica intima, the layer that is in contact with your blood, and your body has to repair by using cholesterol to spackle the damage. So, it kills a huge percentage more that cancer, it’s basically how most smokers die…

Why?
Nicotine is a nootropic. This isn’t new or controversial.

No one is saying go smoke cigarettes.

“Chronic use” in the doses smokers get, combined with everything else that comes with inhaling smoke. Sure.

Nicotine has some medicinal uses. I'm not saying smoking- but nicotine.

I know this because I have narcolepsy and it is one of many things that can be somewhat helpful.

quote:

Nicotine, particularly via patches, has been explored as a potential aid in managing narcolepsy symptoms, primarily excessive daytime sleepiness and cataplexy (sudden muscle weakness).

I used to smoke... don't anymore, but do still use nicotine.

I’ll buy a couple of pouches of zyn if I’m going to be drinking because it will keep me from having an actual cigarette but once I am done drinking I have no craving whatsoever for nicotine.

My dad used to chew Levi Garrett back in the day. I think it was under or around $2 a bag back then. Just looked it up and it’s $8 fricking dollars a bag now. In some states it’s double that.

I may not be recalling it correctly, but there is some crazy stat like, if you smoke a pack a day for a week, but took all that nicotine in one dose, it would kill you immediately

That could apply to nearly anything. If you drank a week’s worth of water all at once it would kill you.

I don't think anyone ever claimed nicotine causes cancer. It's the smoke from burning organic matter that causes that.

Nicotine might have negative affects on cardiovascular health, but I would say being fat is probably a greater risk than chewing nicotine gum or whatever.

have never been able to comprehend the pack a day thing. Damn. That’s like wake up and smoke and throughout the day until bedtime ffs. Obviously that’s awful even if it was something less harmful.

I’ve know people who smoked several packs a day. One guy literally lit his next cigarette with the one he just smoked

That ain't necessarily what Jesus said. It kinda depends on how you was looking at her.

Matt 5:27-2827 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery’; 28 but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart

I used the patches to quit smoking in 2018 or 19. I can’t use nicotine now. It makes me nauseous.

In his book he openly admits he doesn’t believe in germ theory

He doesn’t believe that viruses cause people to get sick. And he’s the head of Health and Human Services for the federal government

I think it’s all the pesticides used, not nicotine. My ancestors were farmers in Mississippi and the grew a small section of tobacco for their own use. They never got cancer and the tobacco was never treated for bugs chemically.

He's a damn nut.

IDC where he is politically, you could pour milk on him and he'd snap, crackle, and pop.

Actually,I don't know if it's the nicotine or some of the other chemicals in a cigarette, but you can definitely feel it.

I will say it is the chemicals they add to the Tobacco. My dad was a chronic smoker all his life and when they forced firesafe cigarettes on the market that is when he started a downward trend with a blood cancer first then a crazy Syndrome that burned his entire skin from the inside out. He passed away about 6 month later.

Also, how much glyphosate is used in tobacco production?
