Cumming isn't metro Atlanta. It's metro Alpharetta. It takes almost 2 hours to get to Midtown from Cumming during rush hour.

Brookhaven close to everything Buckhead, Perimeter, Midtown, Downtown, short drive to Cobb County and Alpharetta without being in the middle of crazy traffic. 400 285 75/85 nearby plus Marta station right there for commute to major events downtown. I LOVE IT!

But the good guys would rather move next to the newest outlet mall and they didn't mind taking the MLB team out to the burbs with them.

First of all, the statistics prove you wrong. The actual city itself is growing.

Secondly, the city treated the Braves like a red headed step-child. You’re right, they should have stayed in the middle of parking lots with nothing for fans to do other than be robbed after the city reneged on commitments to improve the area with the parking revenue they earned on the back of the Braves.

I live in Buford and really enjoy it. They have some of the best schools in the state and just built a high school bigger and better than some college campuses.

Plus I work from home so I don’t have to commute.

my observation is that the citizens are conceeding and heading to the new shiney burbs way too early on many of the neighborhoods

Interesting observation, which is 180 degree opposite of what is happening.

I moved to Sandy Springs back in April and really enjoy it. Right near a MARTA station and can get to Downtown in 25 minutes during rush hour.

Sandy Springs is good. SS Roswell Milton Alpharetta are where we’d look if we ever move OTP.

In town there are a lot of options, but the various Buckhead neighborhoods to the west-ish are our favorites.

I was in Roswell this week and thought to myself that I could live there with the quickness.

For the record I hate major league sports stadiums outside of the city core not connected to awesome transit. And its a shame ATL has 2 other world-class arenas downtown, but not a baseball stadium.

That said, I understand why the new stadium was built and they are taking the right approach by making it an entertainment destination, not just a stadium surrounded by parking lots.

We live in Cherokee County halfway between Canton and Cumming and we love it. Its the suburbs but still has a country type feel to it even though the area is starting to grow. Great area and great schools. Check out Cherokee County.

A few other good areas would be Kennesaw, Marietta, Woodstock, Canton, Cumming, Roswell, Milton, Johns Creek and Alpharetta if you are wanting OTP.
