Meh!

Wall Street isn't moving and 42nd Street was better when it was dominated by porno shops and theaters.

Because they are forced to balance their budget unlike the federal government

You should campaign on that platform.

Bring back crime and degeneracy!

I don't care about New York's financial circumstances and if I did I would venture over to the poliboard for a dose of conservative politics and liberal bashing.

You care enough to bitch about the fact this isn't over on the poliboard.

What if I told you the economic policies of one of the largest and most influential cities in this country transcends a purely political message board?

Did anything just suddenly change? It's not like The City was alive with a strong capitalistic economy, decided to go socialistic overnight, and everything went to hell.
It sounds funny if that were the case, but this has to be years in the making to get themselves into this predicament.
Both parties are always for some short term government uptick to help stir the economy, one party more than the other.
However, this always has ramifications and any added social benefit must be returned back in due time. What happens, though, are the politicians are too shortsighted and don't want to be the ones to eliminate the waste.

So here we are.

Did you read the article? The top 1% pay 50% of the cities taxes. Because of that they are leaving causing the deficit

Exactly, these idiots flee the liberal disaster, then move to conservative states and vote the same type of people into office that they were fleeing. It’s like a cancer spreading.

So these people are moving out to more tax friendly states but will probably continue to vote for the same tax policies that they are trying to get away from. THANKS NY!
