This is right up there with them banning wood/coal fired pizza ovens in the city cuz global warming.

Most hotels have moved to the dispenser approach to save on waste. Have zero issue with this and support.

I stay in hotels all the time, and it’s relatively rare I run into the small shampoo bottles these days. They’re mostly in larger bottles attached to the side of the shower.
But I don’t see why there should be a law with this.

They are trying to help the enviroment by reducing plastic waste.
'member when they made us give up our paper bags to save some owls (that didn't even live there) that would stay upright and replace them with plastic bags made from petroleum that rip when a butterfly farts and spills your cans and jars everywhere?
I 'member.

Because red states don't tackle non-issues themselves like requiring public schools to post the 10 commandments in classrooms.
Yeah but this make team purple hair and all the regimental atheists have an absolute conniption fit, so it’s well worth the time and energy.

Just because single use bottles exist there is no indication that existing hotel taxes cover the costs of disposal. It make no difference whether they do or do not it still costs something to dispose of those bottles. Banning them means the taxpayers aren't footing that bill thus the hotel tax goes further to cover the costs of governing travelers. Thats a win for the local taxpayer anyway you slice it. Some folks would bitch if you hung them with a brand new rope....
are they going to ban the plastic water bottles they provide the guest? or the plastic bag for the ice? or the plastic bag for the clothes to be washed or ironed?

Dems in NY have complete control of state government so it becomes a hot house of ideological delusion.
Versus the geniuses in Louisiana that are requiring the 10 Commandments in public schools and keeping recreational marijuana illegal.

Most nicer hotels have already switched to larger bottles attached to the wall. Sorry you can’t afford better than Econolodge baw.

Probably, and folks will whine like mashed kitties and squall like babies whose mama has snatched away their teat. It will be the worst thing that ever happened to a human being. Imagine the horror, no plastic bad to put your dirty drawers in when staying overnight in a NY hotel. My god the horror....

But don't the 10 commandments, when learned and lived, generally result in a better, nicer, populace? I'm not religious, but feel like if every person lived according to those commandments most of the major issues facing this country would disappear.

If we've learned anything from human history, it's definitely that imposing religious beliefs on others leads to nothing but peace and prosperity.

New York took the time to ban small toiletries in hotels to reduce waste.
Don’t most hotel chains send the unused or partially used bottles and soap bars to be recycled into new ones or shipped to places like Africa where the locals need hygiene materials

2 of them are pertinent to polite society and one of those is one that very few people would ever consider anyhow....and those who are prone to doing so ain't paying no attention to no rock suggesting they don't.
4 of them are about a jealous god that does not exist so those 4 have little to nothing to do with polite society.
I of them suggests you honor your parents when that is something that most people will do if their parents are worthy of honoring....and it says naught about the buggering father or the drunken and abusive mother....so thats another one that is not pertinent to anything based in reality. That leaves 3, one of which is actually beneficial to the human species, one that is a pretty good suggestion and one that is simply out of place but could also be considered a net positive for polite society.
Out of 10 2 are against the law and one other is pretty decent advice.....the other 7 are either about a jealous god or some other such silliness. 10% is not great.....

This. One use plastics are a legitimate problem. This is a step in the right direction.

What will they let all the illegal aliens use to wash themselves

I can't remember the last time I stayed at a hotel that has individual bottles. Even 4.5 star hotels have gone to in-shower setups

OP was way over reacting to what the solution and purpose is, to keep multi use dispensers instead single use plastics. No big deal.

Would not be surprised to see the hotel industry was behind this.
Agreed.
Every dime that they can save while housing tens of 1000’s of illegals is good for them.
