Seriously, though. They still sell CDs? You need to rip everything to digital and upload the entire thing to Google Play for free. Then stream it all off their app for free.

My 2006 car had a cassette player and CD. It must have been the last one with cassette; I hadn’t owned one in a decade.
My 2016 car has CD and auto links to phone, I played a a CD a few times when I first got the car, but it’s all streaming and XM now,
That said, the sound quality of a CD is WAY better than the satellite and streaming methods. The new stuff is just more convenient,

I’m almost positive even Jesus has moved on from CD’s.

Thanks Coach Gundy!
OP, make sure you visit your nearest DeSoto Dealership and check out the ‘60 models:

Is there an alternative to the $350 cd player besides downloading music?
Dude, I know you’re old, and trying to figure out technology is like trying to build a fire without having hands.
But it’s the easiest fricking thing in the world to download music on your smart phone (which i know you have)

Lexus in 2010 still had cassette players in them.

Pretty clever of them to omit something and engineer things such that if you complain about it you're an uncool old grandpa.
There's a certain immediacy to non-smart technology that appeals to me. Sometimes I just want to hear music without knowing that it's some chick from St. Scholastica's birthday or that Drumpf called a man from The View fat.

Instead of all the insults and telling him what to do, perhaps step by step instructions on how to actually do it would be more beneficial. I’ll begin:
Step 1–gather all your cds you want to be able to listen to....

Why are you acting like 40 is 80? I'm 37 and I stream everything: tv, music, movies...come into the 21st century, pee paw.
I feel like I’m in the twilight zone with this “I’m 40” shite. I’m 38 & don’t own a single CD or DVD. Life is so much easier if you embrace current technology.

Even this is unnecessary. Pay $7.99/mo and get amazon music or any streaming service. They all have just about any full album you’d like to hear.

40 isn’t that old bro. Get a google or Apple Music account like everyone else under 70 already has.

Tell your child to take 20 minutes out of their busy schedule and download your cd’s to a computer and put the file on a flash drive.
If he bought any CDs off Amazon he may be able to download them for free from his Amazon music autorip library

I’m 42 and pissed we don’t have 8-tracks in new cars so I can listen to my Pink Floyd albums

If you’re 40 you should be able to afford having a CD changer put in.

So did I. Music streaming has been a thing since we were in our 20s. Time to move past CDs.

Absolutely sucks that you don't get a CD player in a new car.
I'm going to take the bait on this one.
I purchased a new car last year. It has a CD player in it.
