Frick the road pirates. There is no safety threat to yielding there regardless of the law. When we are gonna stop saying “well that’s the law”? If the law says only black trucks can be on the road on Fridays will we sit back and let it happen?
I’m beginning to open up to defunding police departments that focus on revenue over actual safety. Mostly these small
Town podunk departments. St. Martin Parish Sheriff to be specific.

Our neighborhood has mostly roundabouts and one of them has a stop sign at one of the entrances. Not sure why it is there. That ruins the entire point of the roundabout.

If it’s your word vs the cops, unless you have camera proof you stopped, I feel you’ll be paying that ticket.

you'd be surprised how often judges let people off on shite like this with no "proof" (assuming there is no dash cam footage of you).

I think you're full of shite. Judges defer to cops in he said/she said. Thin blue line and all.

Do you think everyone got off on every citation before dashcams and radar?

Pay it online and get it over with. Do you really want to take time out of your day to go to freaking court?

I fought a rolling stop ticket once and won.

It wasn’t a Perry Mason-esque courtroom moment.

I pled not guilty in traffic court that day. I was the only one to do so. Neither the judge nor the ticketing officer showed up for the court that day, so I won by default.

That probably won’t happen for you, but good luck anyhow!

My wife got a ticket

Hi Dan,

We have rules here, and much like your wife with the law, you didnt abide by the rules.

So, please post a picture of said wife, otherwise I will have no choice but to defer this matter to Judge Chicken.

You’re full of shite. Ask any Attorney on this board and they’ll tell you the vast majority of Judges are not supportive of police. They break and the bend the law and the Judges have to deal with their shite.

Show up in court. That's your best option or find an attorney to do it for you. If the cop doesn't show up the judge sometimes throws it out.

Had a speeding ticket out of town. Attorney contacted me and said he would show up for me for 50 dollar fee guaranteed if it wasn't reduced to what was lower on the statute. The officer didn't show up to court and my attorney got it thrown out. Never hit my insurance. Was worth my 50 bucks and even 150 bucks... Was an investment/hedge against rising insurance costs.

Btw I read the contract, ran it by a family friend attorney before I signed on.

Not this attorney, I have never observed what you are purporting.

There also used to NOT be a stop sign at this location. I'm not sure when they added it since I don't travel this route often, but I estimate it was within the last 2 years and was probably added due to traffic congestion in the afternoon and cars on the side road (next to white house) couldn't turn left due to cars backing up.

I don’t think you get to say a stop sign is too new to have to follow it

That’s why they make it red and bold letter with explicit instructions on the sign (STOP)- so that there’s little confusion to be had about what you’re supposed to do there

If you don't have any other violations currently listed on your record, you can possibly get it dropped if you go do the pre-trial stuff. Whether the sign used to be there or not is completely irrelevent because it's there now. If you mention that, they'll just think you didn't stop or try to stop at all. Either you stopped or you didn't. If it says failure to come to a complete stop rather than failure to stop at a stop sign, then you have a better chance of just getting it tossed if your record is clean.

What town is this? What is the likelihood of the officer showing up? Wouldn’t it be thrown out if he doesn’t?

Yeah, I don't know the ins and outs of this sort of thing, but I went to court for an accident a few weeks ago and the judge told me to just throw away my ticket and have a nice day since nobody else from the accident nor the cop showed up.

I assume the references to court costs in here are for people who still got charged with something?
