GMC is coming with new truck, new engines

The first year of an engine/tranny/body redesign anecdotally seems the worst thing to buy.

F-150 XLT Super Crew with the 5.0L Coyote V-8. Great, proven, naturally aspirated engine w/plenty of power and a very satisfying V-8 exhaust note when you put your foot in it. No turbo, no hybrid. I bought a new 2019 and it gives 20+ mpg around town - 22-23 mpg on interstate and will run for 300k+ miles if you change oil/filter every 5k miles.

You're welcome.

Ram is reintroducing the 5.7 Hemi next year, I would wait for that if you going Ram. Although I have heard that 6cyl hurricane engine is pretty good. I have a 2020 Sierra with the 5.3. I like it but I did have to get a torque converter replaced at 30k and a water pump at 95k, all under warranty. I normally don't buy extra warranty but did with this one, LDS has been great.

I have a 25 Ram. Very comfortable. Very fast. Great interior. I am concerned about the longevity of the engine because it is unproven.

I drove the GM truck before I bought mine, and they are worlds apart in refinement and comfort.

That’s all I have.

If you are choosing diesel choose Cummins. Duramax has significant injector and def related issues. Working on diesels are expensive.

If reliability is paramount then buy a 2021 Tundra. All the new trucks are a crapshoot.

Personally I’d go with the Ram or F150. I would never frick with a sunroof. You wont use it and it will leak.

Don’t you drive a “sport utility vehicle”?

I am curious do you know if it had the updated timing chain?

Me as well...I thought, for the most part, that the timing chain issue was alot more rare now

Im a Ram guy, have owned 7 and never had a single issue until now. Bought a 2025 in June, 2 weeks later the gauge cluster goes out and they are on backorder. The company that makes them went bankrupt. So my truck has been sitting at Mark Dodge for 5 weeks with no ETA.

People say they want that V8, but ive owned 6 Hemi's and that 3.0 Hurricane shits on all of them. NOT missing the Hemi at all, but beware of the electronics issues going on and Ram/Stellantis are complete dog shite when it comes to customer service.

At least Toyota actually recalled their issue and replaced all the engines. All the other companies deny forever

Truth! People are super ignorant on this issue. I’d prefer the old 5.7 but I’d have new Tundra over the other trucks being discussed any day

Never had a single issue with seven trucks? Seems doubtful.

This is why I would never buy a Dodge Ram. This is an avoidable situation, and Stellaris has gone too cheap on this. GM learned this lesson 10 years ago.
