. I'm going to start unloading spare change from now on. If it comes to $0.37 then so be it.

I'm going to start leaving actual tips. Like advice on a napkin.

I learned here that it's supposed to be pre-tax, but I always forget to look at that and just go off the total. It's not that much more anyway

If I’m paying cash I usually drop a dollar per transaction unless I’m buying a ton of drinks at a time. If I open a tab I’ll tip appropriately depending on how attentive the bartender was to me.

I don’t follow the 15% rule at a bar. You’ll probably make out pretty well off me if you keep my beer cold and full without having to wait.

New Tipping Rumor
This new generation sure hates the service industry.

If you are not in this generation and still in the service industry and not the owner...

pretty much the only time i don't tip a full dollar for a drink is when the beer is $3.25 or $3.50. basically those exact numbers. maybe $4.25 as well. frick your pricing, you're now getting $0.75 or $0.50. no it's not your fault, and im likely being a dick, but i'm winning this personal pricing battle.

It takes the same amount by of work to bring the happy hour drinks as the regular hour prices.

Always tip on regular price and you will get great service at places you frequent.

My tipping is a function of how well the person did their job and how many people they are serving.

You give me great service and I am the only one there, I will try and make it worth your while. You treat me like a dick that is bothering you because you have tons of patrons, you may not get a thing.

I've never heard that. But whenever my mom would use a coupon for a restaurant (the old entertainment book), she'd always tip at the normal price.

Chintziness is the trait of a poor soul.

Don’t be a chintz.

I'm neither, but I notice the trend of "broke" twenty and thirty somethings suddenly questioning tipping.

I like the "Don't just tip $1 per drink" people. frick you. It took you 45 seconds to get me my draft beer. You think you're worth more than $80 an hour doing unskilled labor?

This is the /end for entitled waiters and waitresses that complain about tips.

I wish that restaurants would just pay servers the $10/hr that they would get otherwise.

i've never had bad service in europe. i believe what you are considering bad service is them actually being polite. it's considered rude to rush people out of the door over there when you finish your meal because people typically have a coffee and talk for a while.

I've personally had an English man tell me service is much better here, than in the UK.

They putting a tip line on the drive thru receipt now. I am almost positive that none of these waiters and waitresses see any of the tips for most of these establishments. You're pretty much giving the owner 20% pure profit on every meal.

Exactly. It has frick all to do with happy hour prices too. Great service and you'll get 25% of the total bill, tax included, if not more. If my glass sits empty on the bar for 5 minutes while you bullshite with your boo, you're getting 10%, if not less.
