BREAKING: We got an interesting phone call recently from someone fundraising to stop St. George from happening. Turns out the person who called was Amy Rodenburger, former Executive Office Director for New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell. So now the Mayor of New Orleans and her allies are trying to prevent you from creating your own city. Let that sink in.
UPDATE: Until this post was made public, Amy was listed as an employee on the NOLA.gov website and her personal LinkedIn (which as of 12:55pm still lists her as an employee). NOLA.gov minutes ago took down the organization chart showing her as an employee. Funny how now all of a sudden she's not on their team. What's clear is that she is a major ally of the Mayor and one of many outside influencers trying to stop St. George.
How the f can they stop it?? I thought it was on ballot for this years elections???

This calls for another catered lunch meeting to discuss

They apparently hate people that live in the unincorporated part of East Baton Rouge Parish.

Will we fund a $300k study to get to the bottom of this?

I can’t wait to see St. George pass with 70% and the Together Baton Rouge shitbags melt like the 2016 election.

Broome can’t stop it. All she can do is get on the news and knee jerk comments

New Orleans forgetting to update their website is suddenly some massive conspiracy against St George.

She better tread lightly. Lakeview and uptown may be next.

EBR is planning to file a lawsuit to stop the election. They will claim that the plan of government doesn’t allow for more than 4 cities to exist in EBR parish. (Baton Rouge, Baker, Zachary, Central)

Sounds like they need a revision to their plan.

Lakeview should do the same thing

I believe a revision to the plan of government would require a parish wide vote in addition to passing the metro council. Someone correct me if I’m wrong

A study is needed to determine the fairness of St. George breaking off.

LA Supreme Court will shoot it down as unconstitutional since State Law is what dictates how a city can be formed.

The word on the street is that it's polling north of 70%

Now they are just getting desperate IMHO.

Unfortunately for them, nothing in the Louisiana Revised Statutes says "unless EBR's precious plan of government says otherwise" and EBR's plan of government is subordinate to the LRS, so it can go get fricked.

That would just be fricking beautiful, wouldn't it? The city-parish gets dissolved because the LSC finds its founding document counter to the state's Constitution and St. George becomes a city.
