Ridiculous they don't offer a sunroof option on the 4Runner TRD Pro.

Somehow I'm not surprised no one is going to use actual numbers to prove their claims.
Are there specs for that back in 1997?
I'll do some research since I don't give a damn who is right.

If you can’t see that the 1989 can go across ditches, etc. that would tear the plastic off the front on the 2018, you’re a rahtard.
I bet if you put the same size tires (the '89 obviously has mud tires where the 18 doesn't), you'd measure pretty damned close to the same ground clearance on that plastic air dam below the bumper. Also, the running board/step is visually making the 18 look lower. I'd bet they are very very similar when compared apples to apples.

Honest question, outside of some mild 4wd why would you want to use a brand new vehicle for "off roading"? I also don't know why any of the new vehicles in 4x4 would not be adequate for 90% of off road use? If you are doing serious mudding, serious farm work, or anything else where you need something more dedicated than I don't know why you'd buy a stock new vehicle anyway.

Only hard numbers for those trucks say that I'm right, but the other guys have eyes" so my numbers mean nothing

Get eyes, idiot

Of course it's expensive. Doesn't mean it's not one of the most off road-capable vehicles on the market straight from the factory.

All I can find is to the bottom on the pumpkin. Which is a BS measurement on any vehicle.
Especially if we are talking approach angles and ground effects.

Didn't know that, the TRD Pros are a bit too rich for my taste, my wife will be getting a 4Runner in the coming months and we plan to go with the TRD Off Road Premium package.

My eyes work pretty well for measurements. It's plain to see that they lowered and redesigned the front air dam, and increased the bumper size for better mpg.

They don't come with sunroofs, power rear tailgate, or a remote start system that makes sense (the latter two are not even available on the loaded Limited 4Runner).

No you won't.

What measurement are you showing for a 1997 silverado?
Best I can find is an unconfirmed of 13.5" at the front bumper, non Z71
I can see myself walking around the hood tonight with a tape to find this info

Who the hell is putting cargo in the bed of a $60K truck?
I've done it quite a few times for backyard projects. Lumber, deck boards, cinder block footings, and 150 or so retaining wall blocks.
Spray in bedliner = no marks in the bed of my truck.

'97 wins IMO, of course I owned that gen. Steel front bumper, built-in leveling kit, all you needed was a 3/4" wrench and an alignment afterwards for a comfortable 1.5" on the front, three-fitty TBI engine. If it would've had solid front axle, man the possibilities. Was the GOAT at the time though IMO. Dodge still had the solid front axle and Ford had that TTB garbage front axle their half-tons.

So on top pf pictures, I now am competing with nostalgia?

You can always do a Jeep wrangler if you want a vehicle that won't last or go with the 4runner trd pro

Do you have actual numbers or just a gut feeling?
Again, I only ask because there is nothing official online that I have found.
6.9" to the diff, but that can be altered with tire wear.
