I don't drink tap water south of Baton Rouge. Unless it is protected by bourbon.

Kentwood is good enough for me.

S&WB ain't changed shite. The water is potentially worse than when you were a kid.

Because of the poor quality of the water lines the S&WB has jacked up the amount of chlorine in the water to prevent that brain-eating amoeba. This makes the water undrinkable, IMO. To me, it leaves a chalky aftertaste.
If you're going to drink it, at the very least get a filter. Bottled water has a better taste.

I lived in a condo in the Warehouse Dist up until recently.. i looked into a couple of water delivery services, which weren’t bad deals, but ultimately i just wound up buying those 2.5 gallon dispensers of Kentwood from Rouses.. not gonna chance drinking water from pipes that are 200 or 300 yrs old, no matter how safe ‘they’ say it is, lol.. BTW whoever mentioned Brita filters, i’ve used those when living in other cities, but the main problem with NOLA water is the lead levels; Brita filters do nothing for lead.

There's water fountains at the Greyhound Station in New Orleans so it's good enough for them.

I grew up drinking that river water and now I’m immune to everything.

Ponder the amount of piss and party gravy that has intermingled with that water supply over the decades. No way I would drink New Orleans tap water. When I lived in Metairie the tap water tasted like arse.
