The cops should not patrol the bad areas. Protect the good tax paying citizens and let the others kill each other. In a year or so they'll only be about twenty of them left. Go arrest them and start fresh. I should be police chief.

He specifically said number of murders, not murder rate.
The person I was replying to said "per capita".

It's so hot right now in the city

This summer is going to be bloody

After BTY youngn getting killed last week in holly grove I have a feeling there are going to be a few more homocides revolving around that... there is a couple hoods in the city that are beefing pretty bad.

The killers are really emboldened right now

# of murders=/= murder rate

New Orleans' murder rate per capita is higher than Chicago, but the total number of murders in the two cities isn't even close.

One thing I can tell you is that the NOPD consent decree isn't working.

You do realize that there isn't much difference between the "good" and "bad" areas of the city.

I think this theory is dumb. They aren't going to magically kill themselves off. These low life scum love making them some babies that they can't support so there is always a pipeline of new little dindus

Sure does make you think twice about visiting once or twice a year. Luckily I live far enough away where it's easy to pass.

A 4 for 1 deal on bud light at 2 pm isn't worth the worry of losing my life.

Also for reference, in 1994 New Orleans had a murder rate of 94.0 per 100,000
that's so insane

And I won't lie, the youngsters I see in town and the beef I'm hearing about right now, it reminds me of the mid-90s. These kids have zero heart.

They blame Katrina.

They say they saw so much death and trauma that it causes them to act the way they do.

Crazy how it didn't hit Holy Cross or Jesuit kids.

Come on man, you know just as well as I do, this has always been a problem. Sure, sometimes it spikes bc of a certain person of a certain stature (usually drug dealer or rapper), but those hoods/wards are always beefing.

Most of the murders in Chicago happen on the south side in certain neighborhoods. I would say the south side of Chicago is still more dangerous
