You’d think these dudes lived in Paris or something by the way they act

New Orleans is basically a more crime ridden Savannah or Charleston with sports teams

Exactly.

How ridiculous can one sound acting like eating dinner in a neighboring parish is beneath them

yup. it's pretty disgusting and sad

the french quarter was doing great numbers this year before this shite and I was bullish on the city

I've turned bearish and hard for me to see a scenario where I stick around

Great post. This will only hurt OP restaurants. It will only help JP restaurants. OP residents might not go to JP in high volume but JP residents will frequent JP restaurants more instead of going to OP.

New Orleans is still living off its reputation from when it was 70% white in the first half of the 20th century.

Drago’s

Haha

It really is overrated. Without the oysters, it’s just crappy spaghetti pasta in a bowl with 4 shrimp. Pathetic.

I must give points to the owner, though, who last year on the news said that restaurants and their customers should figure out what is comfortable for them, and make the government stay out of the way. If a restaurant sucks at keeping clean, the customers will stop coming. This is so basic, but Cantrell would never understand this.

To me NOLA isn't a hard business model to crack. You've got tourism and you've got unique cuisine and dining options.

Both things are continually getting hampered by leadership. It's hard to imagine a path forward.

62% of Orleans has at least one dose. 60% of Jefferson has at least one dose. I think the assumed impacts on Orleans restaurants from this mandate are exaggerated here.

People are getting insane $ for real estate in JP. I think a lot of that is people wanting to get the heck out of Orleans

There are probably like 5 restaurants worth eating at in JP.

Moscas, Desi Vega's, R&O's, Bevi,
Rivershack are just off the top of my head.

They don't have places like Coquette or Upperline, but there are plenty of sufficient restaurants.

infrastructure is improving and the city is "nicer" than ever before despite what these baws pretend to know on here

but she cancelled the momentum when things were surging.

it's very sad tbh

There are those people who only want to go where they are enforcing the mandate and the staff is fully vaxxed.

Couldn't tell you if they outweigh the not going because they require a vax card people.

Ok. I just think people are fed up in general with NO. Having to show proof of vaccination is enough tyranny for many to just say “Nah. I’ll stay home”.

There just aren't many good restaurant options worth eating out in JP.

I grew up in JP. There are places I like in JP. there just aren't many options that aren't shite, and the places listed in this thread prove it.

New Orleans is a shithole, but it does have some amazing restaurants.
