I'd say that's far from an inaccurate statement. And the only thing that's saved business is our country just pouring money into ppp programs. our country is big time fricked in the future with the wasteful spending.

I must have missed the huge protest of bar and restaurant owners and employees picketing City Hall. Anyone got a link to that?
Sadly, I've seen too many nod in agreement with their authoritarian overlords.
This.
NOLA restaurant owner (Katie's) praised the mandate one week on Fox local news and the next week went on Laura Ingraham show p*ssing and moaning about how he didn't want to enforce it, but his hands were tied.
Posters on the poli-board shared a link and busted him among others in a thread on this topic. I tread carefully on that board but to me this topic was worth the trip over there. Some of these restaurants appear to be angling for more federal relief dollars due to playing the effects of the Delta wave vax and masking mandates on their business both ways.
Poli board thread on NOLA restaurant hypocrisy

My anecdotal evidence is that NOLA is losing business that I gave them. I find myself stopping outside the parish for stuff like coffee when I leave just to not deal with an additional level of bullshite. Couldn't tell you the levels of pissed off I would be for someone to reject a legit vax card.

Personally I hate Nola and always have so they arent really losing anything with me

Jesus Lester, how the hell is that relevant? You don’t think people patronize Nola from the surrounding areas?
My 20 year reunion is next weekend. I doubt a quarter of the people show up, if they still even have it. Wife and I had intended on spending the weekend in the city, but no more. You don’t think other people are changing plans based upon this crap? You don’t think people that have a choice where to spend their dollars are taking them elsewhere?

No businesses need to say fuk you Destroya we not requiring negative Covid tests or vaccination cards that’s what the fuk needs to happen

Come on man
That poster thinks New Orleans has the softest people on the planet.

This is going to kill some of those restaurants. Especially with JP not requiring it.
No one wants to eat in Jefferson unless you live or work in Jefferson parish. It’s a food grave yard

JP is far from a food grave yard.

I have dined at Katies many times, it’s one of my favorite restaurants in the entire city, and I have NEVER seen it that empty as it was portrayed in that segment.
This is a got damn shame. frick that slimy cocksucker Latoya.

It's absurd. Went to dinner last night for ole lady's birthday and hit a bar for drinks after. Both places (CBD) were very anal about the Vaccine Cards and Negative Tests.
Very curious how these people are being trained to verify legitimate cards for those not using LA wallet. Quick glance just to see they have a card? Entering lot numbers into system? I just can’t see these hosts at the door dealing with that.

Hospitality and tourism are the major industries driving the economy in NOLA. LaToya pegging them with stupid stuff like vaccine mandates is not just kicking them when they are down, it’s basically arse f**king them when they are down. Of course they voted for her so I guess they are getting what they voted for.

I take the owner at his word when he says it’s slow, but we also have no idea when they filmed that. Could’ve been 3pm on a Tuesday. For the sake of the segment, they definitely weren’t going to show a busy restaurant.

I bet this isnt enforced in the usual suspect neighborhoods
Well it can’t be, they are the ones that aren’t getting vaccinated

I’m speaking relative to the headline. Anyone that lives in New Orleans knows that after 3 days of this that headline is complete bullshite. shite, it was prob filmed on Monday or Tuesday anyway; so not even giving the grace to see if it is going to bury business.
No one likes it, but they have withstood it up until this point. So stay home I guess? The same people that own these places always have. The same shite Mayors that run the city are still there. So be a triggered little soy boy, I don’t give a shite
