In NOLA yes. The rest of LA no!

Word I get from a family member working at Charity in NO is that they are stretched about to the limit but are also having some success. He’s tired but pretty upbeat.
Family member at the Lake in BR is a little more stressed out, even with a smaller caseload, but they are adjusting and also having some good outcomes from serious cases.
They both agree that if it gets much worse they could become unable to provide enough respirators and such, but they aren’t there yet. They are able to manage right now.

I know a R.T. that works at the Hammond hospital and she said they have no cases there...

This panic of overwhelming the hospitals and shortage of PPE seems to be going all over the country. It's analogous to the public's panic over a toilet paper shortage.
Doctor's and nurses need to chill the f out. Interview after interview they seemed more worried about catching it themselves than they do treating people and they aren't even in the target demographic for this virus.

I've gotten used to everything you post being complete bullshite, but my god this is almost unfathomably retarded.

When someone says this kind of shite they are admitting it is at one end of the spectrum.

You may want to discuss this with the people are actually in the Hospital bc every single one i've spoken to says otherwise.

I know people at multiple locations. A few shortages of materials, but their PPE standards are mostly a joke anyway.
They are really busy, far from overrun.

It's at both ends, dawg. Just 99% of people here won't admit to it.

No doubt. Like any data on the edges, filter it out.

This is bullshite. I know several people on the front line, and I've talked to them as recently as last night. Most of the hospitals in the GNO area have NOT reached ICU capacity. They paint a picture that is hectic and fast moving, but definitely not at capacity. There are one or two hospitals that ARE pushing capacity. Overall the GNO area can handle more, which is good, because it's increasing.
I’m in daily consultation with family MD’s in NOLA. The hospitals they are on staff with, are not particularly stressed.
I am in Management in a south LA hospital outside of the GNO. We have had zero positive results. Our ICU capacity is on par with what it typically is this time of year.
We have converted a 12 bed isolation unit which is completely negative pressure (exhausted outside the hospital), that is unoccupied. I pray it stays that way, but I am optimistic this is we have planned for the worst, and may come out with an outcome of the best.
