I call bullshite on the inability for New Orleans to practice safe social distancing. I spoke with a former HS Classmate working in Hong Kong today.

They are practicing social distancing in a town of 7 million people that's 12 square miles. Don't give me that shite.

If we don't have tent hospitals or school hospitals or whatever hospitals ready to go there yet, then I don't know what we are doing.

I thought the data only showed 300 Covid patients in ICU for the whole state of LA. You'd think there'd be more beds than that.

I get that you've got regular ICU type patients hogging the some of the rooms with gunshot wounds, heart attacks and the like but 250 covid ICUs or so in NOLA doesn't seem like that many. There must be at least 10 hospitals in NOLA. From Tulane and LSU to Touro and East and West Jeff.

This panic of overwhelming the hospitals and shortage of PPE seems to be going all over the country. It's analogous to the public's panic over a toilet paper shortage.

Doctor's and nurses need to chill the f out. Interview after interview they seemed more worried about catching it themselves than they do treating people and they aren't even in the target demographic for this virus.

Fauci needs to give these yellow-assed medical "professionals" a kick in the arse. Stop the bitching and just do your job, we don't need your facebook commentary. You aren't heroes and martyrs just doctors and nurses. Check your egos at the door.

Those numbers seem crazy. Then you see the hardest hit province in Italy has over 10 million people in 9 sq miles. Maybe that’s why the social distancing isn’t working over there.

Were the hospitals designed by the same firm that built the Hard Rock Hotel?

How long will the Corona dead bodies stay in the hospital? Days, weeks, months?

I disagree 100%, it is not a systemic collapse, it is the collapse of a small portion of the hospital that just happens to be desperately needed right now. But the largest portion of the hospital could be functioning as normal.

It’s almost like the city and state were already underfunded and poorly organized shitholes, decades in the making. Weird how that exacerbates a public services problem such as this.

I just can’t see why New Orleans and Louisiana are so unprepared. I mean how could we have ever anticipated this?

It’s not like the city and state were exposed in 2005 for having the contingent/emergency capabilities of a west African country.

After all, our infrastructure is up to date and well maintained through all of the well-allocated post-Katrina money.

How could we ever have known that literally any surge in public health needs would overwhelm our systems?

Savage....and on point.
