Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

again. i live in reality, not in ideals

and nobody is saying people shouldn't be able to speak out, at least in this thread

Nazi Germany was a reality. Not an ideal.

Keep supporting authoritarianism because it’s easier for you to support than fight. Enjoy your life decisions.

just got a text from a buddy who is involved in restaurants and he said that the Federal gov. is going to shut down all nonessential businesses in the next 48 hours...

Things will be getting a bit tense in the hood. If things are not readily available, the vermin will be raiding those who may have supplies on hand. Dispersed suburban and rural residences will become the targets of choice but any target of convenience will be fair game.

so if the directive comes down to shut down, will you be complying?

Or will you be exercising your first amendment rights?

Friend,

Thank you for your prayers for me and Mother. I pray for you and your loved ones also. We must all be willing to sacrifice our needs and desires for others. It is a central tenant in the Gospel. It applies always, not just in times of crisis.

Sincerely,
TulaneLSU

This just in: a lot of people in Louisiana are fricking stupid and selfish.

This also just in: the same is true across large swaths of America

Many are downplaying this to the point of not listening to expert & government recommendations and ironically are going to make it much worse.

people in other states are gathering too. I'm not condoning it, but it isn't just new orleans.

The mass shutdown of professional sports. I realize there is likely insurance for most of the losses of revenue, at least I would think so but I may be wrong in that thinking. The leagues and owners are still surrendering millions of dollars by cancelling or postponing seasons.

The entire situation is still surreal to me that I'm living through a pandemic.

that's cool but

1. their behavior won't lead to policies directly affecting me

2. their behavior isn't in what will become the worst city in the US dealing with COVID-19 and all its secondary issues
