I was just talking to someone from out of town about the state of NOLA these days.
Until people defend themselves this will continue to happen and will probably escalate. I have no faith that anyone in the government actually wants to do anything about these "incidents".

That is not a bad area and this crap should not be happening. But these two jokers knew the police wouldn't come and even when/if they get arrested, nothing would happen. Jason Williams lets em go every time.
Now that said, I ate there a few weeks ago. It was full of hipsters and the kind of folks that look like they were born middle class in Columbus Ohio and decided to get three english degrees and vote for Obama "cause dad is a mean republican and capitalism is evil".
I have no doubt the majority, if not all of the patrons, were hardcore biden voters / "orange man bad" folks. The kind of folks that still think Hunter's laptop is fake because they believe everything Rachel Maddow says is 100pct true.
They voted for this. They love it.
