Exactly. It’s illegal everywhere. Yet people across the US still die nearly every day from people who hit triple digits on the interstate.
We need fewer laws and more dead idiots.

You think not wanting someone to be able to drive over 90 mph on public roads is unreasonable?
You think punishing everyone for the actions of a few is the reasonable. Go be a retard somewhere else.

I’d like to know just how many Fricking accidents occur by those 18-wheelers taking 10 miles to pass another 18-wheeler going side by side because of their stupid governors? The bottleneck behind that line of cars is ridiculous. Just last week I’ve got the cruise on 74 on the Interstate. Cruising along down the damn road minding my damn business when the 18-wheeler changes lane to pass. I had to slam on my breaks to avoid running into the back of him. He was not going 70, but rather 64 in the hammer lane.
No question speed kills and that accident could have been avoided. But slow driving kills just as much as fast driving.
But you know what kills more people than that? Drunk/Distracted driving. I’ve lost both a spouse and another family member in these circumstances (2 different accidents). There are plenty of laws in place to prevent it, but yet it still happened.
Instead of more unilateral socialist government intrusion, why not make it harder to get licenses? Why not have levels of licenses that allow more skilled drivers the opportunity to do more things, like speed? I’m literally a trained performance driver. There’s some cars that are on the roadway that aren’t safe at 45, and there’s some drivers who aren’t safe at 70. There should be a legit skills test rather than just unilaterally punishing some because of the ineptitude and/or shear stupidity of others. I don’t have a problem with also factoring in age.
I do see your point and it is a valid one to make. There are just as valid points in the opposite direction.

That’s an odd argument. People kill other people with guns every day, yet we have the right/ability to obtain guns in the US. Am I to assume you want that taken away as well?
That doesn’t feel like an apples to apples comparison to me.
I’m not saying I’m in favor of government mandated speed inhibitors.
Murder is illegal. Guns are not.
Speeding is illegal. Cars are not.
Cars can be modified to prevent speeding above a set MPH. Guns cannot be modified to recognize legal vs illegal shooting.

Not really.

Guarantee you are wrong...
I wasn't arguing for driving triple digits on a public highway, I was arguing against more invasive government control.

“Recognize” is a tricky word there. But aren’t modifications to guns that make them fully automatic illegal? So there actually does exist “legal vs. illegal” shooting.
And I’m not even arguing. Just something I thought about when reading your post.

Sure buddy… sure.
You already are controlled by the government in most every aspect of your life…. but speeding on a public highway is where you draw your line?

I think people should be allowed to drive as fast as they fricking want on a controlled-access expressway.

He'll likely be covered by some memorandum somewhere that says you don't jail people for minor offenses
—————————————-
I honestly hope he is but is going 100 a minor offense? I’m thinking not but I don’t drive 100 so idk.

And they can be further modified to remove the speed limiter.
