Go with Trex or PVC decking. We went with the pressure treated wood 9 years ago and I just tore down the sun deck area 2 weeks ago.

his or Timbertech. I broke down and replaced a pressure treated wood deck. Best thing I’ve ever done.
Love your avatar pic of "Popcorn Sutton". I met him in Maggie Valley in 06 when at a motorcycle rally and bought some of his excellent moonshine. Matter of fact, he sold several hundred dollars worth over the 4 days our group was there.
Little bitty guy in person, but a giant of a personality and one hell of a moonshiner.

How big is your deck? Is it long and skinny? Short and wide?

Get the LockDry aluminum decking
well lockdry is made for use as a roofing material that will also be used as a usable deck surface, the nextdeck is for regular decking that doesnt need to be a waterproof roofing cover over something. both are made by the same company and are great marterials
OP check it out here LINK

I just completed a deck 18' by 24' and had the same concerns as you about the surface temperature. Moisture shield has a product called infused that it suppose to be almost as cool as wood, but the colors are very limited.
The dealer I went to also handled Azek and was telling me about the advancements composite decking has made in the last few years concerning temperature. I picked up samples of each and with a surface read thermometer tested the products. The lighter Azek colors were the coolest being only a few degrees warmer than wood, so that is what I went with. There is a huge price difference in Azek decking depending on colors but fortunately for me the lighter/cooler color was the cheapest.
My deck gets shade starting around 5:30. We sit on it beginning around 6 and don't feel any extra heat from the deck. We can walk on it bare footed if we wanted.

Been wondering this myself; I just restored my deck and said "never again" by the time I was done. I certainly have a few years, but I'll need to start replacing boards within 5yrs for sure.
How does Ipe wood handle intense sun?

Both decks I have are composite. I just give them a spritz of bleach/water solution and hose down. Never need to pressure wash.

iPe is a very dense wood, so dense that it won’t burn, expansion and contraction is minimum, but proof, rot proof for for at least 50 years, it is used for decks and docks in commercial settings.
cons it is more expensive than treated, probably a little cheaper than composite. If you don’t oil it once a year, it will grey, similar to cypress, you can’t screw into to, the wood is too hard, you have to pre drill the boards or used hidden clips.
With all that being said, it is a long term solution

Composite can still warp.
Pressure treated decking boards are the way to go. Use self drilling wood screws to fasten down, and use 2 screws on each plank where it fastens to the decking to prevent warping.
Yeah you got to stain it or waterproof it but pressure treated wood will last for a very long time.
