This. Beer is so easily interchangeable for the most part. And on top of that, the vast majority of people that drank it aren’t the kind that will be told to frick off to their faces, and then just go back once you realize the error in your ways and try to pander to get them back. Most of them won’t have a problem just choosing something different on principle alone and leaving you behind in the dust.
Free market at its best. AB absolutely has the right to choose whatever spokesperson they want for their brand. And people can choose not to buy it. It’s so funny to me that for a company that’s SO huge and has nailed marketing for SO long, they sure as hell learned a valuable lesson that should’ve been known for a century.
