Give the messicans a break. Luke Bryan just gave a four day concert there that ended yesterday. It tough to ask anybody to sit through four days of that and not cause a ruckus.

Why even travel to mexico? The nice coastal resort experience it offers can be had in places like california and Costa rica and belize.

My sister had her wedding in puerta vallarta and it was nice, but it's not anything that you can't get in the states or in central america.

I love that "coastal resort experience" of Mexico City.

Sure, gunmen didn't storm Carlos n Charlie's but do you still want to spend time in a place where a government office can be stormed by gunmen and shot up? I'm sure tourists are still perfectly safe but to act like that's not a problem in a place like Cancun is laughable.

I'll be 45 minutes away from Cancun in a resort, so no it doesn't bother me. As I said, I'll only reconsider my travel arrangements if this keeps up consistently in tourist areas.

People (myself included) don't seem to have a problem traveling to Germany or other EU countries where you can be run over by a truck in an outdoor market...but Mexico is a third world shithole and should be avoided at all costs.

yep, and his severed head was mounted on a post on the highway exiting the airport so that all the tourists could see who was in charge of things

Seriously? yikes....

My first out of country vacation was to Isla Mujeres and Playa Del Carmen a little over a year ago. Had fun and was hoping to go back soon. Guess i'll need to wait a little before considering.

Stayed at an AI in Punta Cana last year. Wife and I were walking along the beach at night when we stepped about 25 yards outside of the resort's property.

Some random dude came running out of the shadows with a cigar box full of weed trying to sell it to us. He literally seemed to be camping in the shadows waiting for tourists. Scared the shite out of us. We politely said, "thank you but no" and beat a hasty retreat back onto the resort's property.

Heading to Puerto Vallarta this May

Bunch of morons in this thread. Mexico is not Third World. Most cities look like they could be cities here.

I had tacos and margs in Juarez last week. Fight me.

To be fair, Juarez is nothing like it was a few years ago. I bet those tacos were damn good though

Yeah you right. Don't think I would have gone 3 or 4 years ago, but these days it's no big thing to walk over for a few hours if you're ever in El Paso . Tacos damn good.

Margs were meh. See? Just like the states

LOL

i always laugh when people spend Thousands on trips to that shite hole.

So many places in Caribbean that are 1000 times better, and ur not at the mercy of drug dealers and warlords, and hoping they stick to the large towns. This was coming, and now people will find a new shite city in Mexico to claim as great.

Went to puerto for my college graduation... stayed for 10 days and it was AMAZING. The resort we stayed at was pretty cool but the town itself was the real treat. Beautiful old buildings and good restaurants to eat at. Lots of beautiful women and not too many tourists. Most of the tourists I met were from Canada and England as well not the USA, which made for a really cool experience. The water was perfect also.... just too many ppl selling stuff on the beaches kinda annoying.
